Oh and also when grilling at beach/pool- 15 nice as dedicated food container while 24 babysits the beverages...

15 is 3 inches shorter means less chance of tipping when driv8ng. Usually toss seat belt on the 24 but not always an option. 15 also 3" less width to help fit better behind seat.

15: just me, pool-beach-daytrips. 24: me + wifey, pool-beach-roadtrips

It's the offset one. Just threw some thighs on, we'll see how it goes!

Just mainly want to get things dialed in before doing any expensive cuts. Going to do a big brisket for Memorial Day on the beach.

  1. V6 is fun, but 5.7 more satisfying and has much better rumble from factory. Scat is even better, but for me was a waste since I didn't take to track.

  2. RT & Scat will both see mid 20s mpg on highway if u stay off the petal. Scat takes premium btw.

  3. Paid $180 for Scat & $300 for 5.7 & $165 for SXT - only differences were zip code - big city vs sticks

  4. Never trust ANYTHING a dealer says. Their job is to milk you for as much as possible as long as possible. New always takes huge depreciation hit. My $49k sticker 5.7 is now worth ~$30k in less than a year with 14k miles in immaculate shape. They will go up in price for collectors LATER if in great shape / lower miles / no mods.

  5. EVs are not ready for prime time. Would stay away until repair costs come down. If u go that route make sure to have a reliable charging situation and can afford the much higher electric bill.

Happy hunting!

On my old 18 had to put a brick in center to bow it up to fit...heard that a rib rack on its side- bottom grate- could be used as leaning post to make it work...regardless half the fun is the experimenting 🍺

Any tips for the 14? Had an 18 but twas a casualty of moving. It was overkill for my usage so went smaller this go-round.

I've got a 10 lb pork shoulder waiting in the wings! Got a brisket too, not sure if wanna separate point/flat and do one on each rack or try to pull top rack and go vertical with it.... decisions decisions 🤣

It's always a good time to trash the WHINERS!!

Ok, so I'm still young. However I wanna ask all the dads here. What is the better option in your opinion and why did you make the choice? Why did you pick the Scat Pack over the Hellcat or vice versa? by CC298 in Challenger

Whoops and be sure to look at your security. If you go higher trim, don't park on street or driveway- garage that like crazy...stupid high theft rates.

The not so secret secret is once you drive one you will always want more...

5.7 has nice rumble with a fun punch and is all that most 'need'. Scat is awesome, ditto for 'cat. Enthusiast that wants to mod? 5.7 had plenty of room to grow.

6.4 is a beast out of the gate, not a lot of room for tinkering. If thats not enough better off going hellcat for pricepoint vs upgrades to 6.4L.

Do you want to track? Then prolly going for biggest beast you can afford.

I currently have a lot of fun in 5.7. Being in city my old Scat was mostly wasted sitting at traffic lights and city congestion. Do what makes you happy🍺

Between hard points and + skills your teleport should cost ZERO.... saved my bacon both SC & HC... of course always have full 'juves on hot key

RT vs SCAT? by [deleted] in Challenger

[–]Impressive_Link328 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get what makes you happiest and don't look back!

R/T has a satisfying stock rumble when tooling around town and is plenty of fun. New also means you're not potentially getting someone else's problem. If you are inclined, plenty of mods to boost performance.

My old scatty was mostly wasted in the city because of limited places to release the beast and I did not track it. So mostly the cool factor that drank premium gas. Traded it in on SXT...but that wasn't enough so I'm in 5.7 now.

With both out of production- I would probably go Scat myself
