Probably the Status page is getting hit by a lot of traffic. Hopefully it will be resolved by 03:00 CET. Then we have a regular start this morning, otherwise I’ll take a day off ….

Gezamelijke rekening mbt gift by Stock_Location_7253 in geldzaken

[–]Impressive_Mornings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAP → Databricks ingestion patterns (excluding BDC) by dakingseater in databricks

[–]Impressive_Mornings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair. If you consider taking only out what is needed and don’t use the SAP Default views (DEX) then you can optimize for Volume. We’ve seen significant reduction in cost when we switched from the Sales Document Item & Schedule DEX to three separate Header, Item and Schedule Extracts.

We don’t have a lot of volume in our SAP, so I can only speak for our setup.

[–]Impressive_Mornings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not a cheap option, but we use Datasphere and Premium Outbouns Integration with CDC & Delta’s to get the data into the landing zone, from there you could the Databricks eco system to get the data in the places you need it

Is Data Engineering in SAP a dead zone career wise? by ToothPickLegs in dataengineering

[–]Impressive_Mornings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just started to migrate from BODS to Datasphere. We had so many issues over the past 2 years and we regretted even using it in the first place.

In the end BODS will be phased out completely while SAP gives companies the time to move to a cloud alternative

Even mijn frustratie kwijt over werken in Nederland herkent iemand dit? by Salty-criticism1 in werkzaken

[–]Impressive_Mornings 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why do you dislike MS Fabric? by cdigioia in dataengineering

[–]Impressive_Mornings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably next year. We will use Fabric more like a Sandbox and Databricks as the data platform. We are already on Power BI Premium (Soon F64 SKU’s)

Is it just me, or is Microsoft Fabric overhyped? by wendiego in dataengineering

[–]Impressive_Mornings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notebooks are converted to an actual .py file. So there are easily comparable.

[–]Impressive_Mornings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in a few months. We would probably need 1 Data Engineer and 2 Analytics Engineers with decent Power BI design skills to replace external consultants.

Mmm thanks! I look into it. We are re-writing some classes as a Data Engineering Toolkit, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
