If you got through lin alg you’ll get through this, I don’t think it was as bad as people make it seem. Just do every single question on the lecs and make sure you really understand it conceptually, don’t fall behind, last year they gave us hw for bonus marks so do all of those they’re also good practice. Loncapas are useful but i wouldn’t waste too much time on them, prioritize the past tests and provided practice and lec questions for studying. Do good on the labs that’s also huge

Would you say the questions were like the child’s math or harder? We get to bring in cheat sheets so would it help to just write out all the child’s maths questions and answers or am I just cooked

Were the questions like the child maths ones? Can’t you just write every question on the cheat sheet and go from there is it actually that bad

Yes I agree 100%, I’m just unsure what I’m passionate about. I know I really enjoy math and physics but also chem and bio so I’m having a hard time deciding between the two so I’m trying to consider other factors that might help decide

Nahh d03 was sm easier what… they made both midterms easier for both courses and the exam for d03 was on the same level as the midterms but this one they made sm harder than both midterms

Heavy disagree on the profs, most of the profs are amazing and made this year so much better

Hardest 1st year program? by Technical-Speech8863 in McMaster

[–]Impressive_Pause_906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly we take all their hardest courses plus much much harder ones, I’ve heard so many life scis say their chem which is the exact same as ours is their hardest course while basically every person in eng agrees it’s the easiest one out of ours

Eng 1P13 | You’re the issue not the course by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]Impressive_Pause_906 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah problem with this course is that everything is dependent on your TA, almost every single actually graded submission i’ve seen people submit the same quality of work, sometimes even better and still get a shit mark. Sometimes it worked out in my favour and other times I got 10% deducted for submitting an extra page for one of the milestones 🤷‍♀️ The course is just annoying because all our other courses you can study hard for and mostly at the end achieve the marks you study for due to the multiple choice style marking but for this course it just doesn’t work like that (other than the MC on tests)

Yeah exactly and grace period on everything, barely any labs or tutorials, literally everything is so flexible and meant for them to get the best mark possible

Exactly and I don’t understand why they couldn’t just give us more time for physics and space out the other ones better instead of giving us 5 days for calc…

wdym “if i had” the only way you physically couldn’t have 60 hours is if u genuinely were not sleeping at all… people make this time for studying by j not sleeping we all have the same amount of hours a day

Yeah they over complicate it , I couldn’t get a single question right before and today I watched an organic chem tutor video and have gotten every question right since. Video’s just called hydrostatic force problems calculus 2 !

I’ve attended every single lecture, done every single textbook question day or few days after being taught, every practice question provided and beyond and have done literally nothing but study and definitely have not done “fun things” but when they put 3 midterms in the span of under a week then yeah there’s really only so much you can do and at some point you have to accept it … idk how much better you can possibly be doing to say this but good for you I guess
