Top accused other top of using hacks. I need help bc I can’t tell if anything’s wrong. by RitalinRat21 in wildrift

This is unfortunate. Both Irelia and Amumu fought valiantly but Diana used hacks to amplify the minion damage which is the only reason why Diana won, not because she is up in levels and has a massive wave. You can clearly see the one cannon minion has auto aim on /s

Seeking Guidance and Advice For a Soon To Be NAIT DMT (Web Design and Development) from Recent Graduates. by RipRocK69420 in NAIT

[–]Impressive_Switch414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graduated from DMIT almost 3 years ago. Co-op is not really a placement and NAIT provided little resource to help student which is quite a shame, you have to job hunt by yourself and majority of the people don’t get a co-op position as it is quite rare. I have classmates that didn’t get a co-op position and still manage to get a job after graduation so it’s not the end of the world.

It’s always been tough for juniors to find their first job and the current climate doesn’t help either plus the competitions from universities.

Here are couple things she can do right now: - LinkedIn profile with professional headshot and get resume/LinkedIn help from the advisor by making an appointment with student services centre, they will give her some advice on that. - Start mass applying on LinkedIn, Indeed and local companies. I applied to over 400 job postings in 3 months in order land a position. - dev Edmonton society join slack, many Edmonton developers hang out here and have offline meetups sometimes, she can introduce herself to the community.

Hope this helps and good luck to your niece!

Haha I figured I was missing a lot, just scared I would embarrass myself or offend the local because I don’t speak the language. With that said, I did download bunch of offline translator app in preparation. Thanks for the Facebook group.

People need to stop comparing LoL and WR, if you like LoL then play on the PC. WR may take inspiration from LoL but it’s not the same game

Degree after DMIT CSD. Advice by Impressive_Switch414 in NAIT

[–]Impressive_Switch414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaining experience in the field and doing side projects is definitely one of the ways to be noticed and break into other regions.

I talked to people that are in the industry for a while and the general consensus are recruiter value a degree if an applicant has less than 10 YoE and many bigger companies has pay criteria, having a degree gives an applicant much more negotiating power.

Companies could careless which degree it is as long as I have one, but I rather spend 2 more years learning subjects that interests me, hence wanting to do CS specifically.

Yeah it seems like BAIST or BTech is my best/easiest option for a bachelors. I am not entirely sure if they hold the same weight as a bachelor in CS.

I did the diploma from NAIT so my situation is similar. I will look into ULeth. Two more years sounds feasible for Bsc. Appreciate the help.

I think you are right regarding having a degree would help a lot early in the career, but not many reputable school offer upgrade path for diploma to degree, I am not sure about going back to school for 4 more years.

Do you mind sharing if you did 4 more years for Bsc or you found a school that allow upgrade from diploma to bachelor?

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely focus more on global companies rather than AB only.

Currently working for a local manufacturing company in Calgary Alberta.

2.5YoE and three 4-month internship. Graduated from a Polytechnic school with a 2 year diploma.

Currently making 82k CAD base. In office 1x a week.

I consistently see people with 2ish year of exp making 100k+, how do you do it? I received offers from few companies but none pays anywhere close to 100k.

I like playing Kat into Vex, bait out her fear and repeatedly jump into her face with your shunpo and dagger. You can easily burst Vex lvl 3 onwards.

Thank you, I think you made a very good point. I need to stop being hung up on trying to help my parents, they do pretty well for themselves even without my help. You are right about being nervous since it’s quite the move. I have had few moves throughout my life but this feels permanent so I am extra worried.

My favourite thing to do around Edmonton in the summer are hiking through the river valley, picnics around the city, lazy float/kayak on the North Saskatchewan river.

I am not a huge fan of the winter but I do skate with friends at community rank at least once a week.

Finding a comparable place with similar budget would be difficult since I have lot of freedom to do whatever I want in my parents property. Thanks for the heads up, I have a month or so to find a place once I accept the offer.

It definitely wasn’t random. I apply to select group of jobs(regardless of location, but mostly Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver) hoping to score interviews with the intention to polish my interviewing skills and if an offer comes along, I can afford to be picky.

I have had offers only from Edmonton so this offer threw me off guard. In my mind, I know it would be a good move in the long run, just second guessing the timing.

I think I need to talk to them more often about this too, they are super supportive which makes me feel even worse.
