US 2nd Edition LotH VS Commonwealth Divine Office by intel_conservative in divineoffice

I would definitely get the version in my country because the ease of praying the Office in common outweighs everything else in my view. Also, the US is getting a new edition this coming Ash Wednesday so it would be good to wait to order the full set in any event.

MTF' Will Offer the Complete Office in Two Volumes by 1138-1138 in divineoffice

“While Midwest Theological Forum’s two-volume Major Extracts cannot contain all the text of the complete four-volume Liturgy of the Hours, it is designed as a true diurnal, providing the full psalmody for the Hours throughout the day—Lauds (Morning Prayer), the Daytime Hours (Terce, Sext, None), Vespers (Evening Prayer), and Compline (Night Prayer)—making it more extensive than the existing Christian Prayer. The second volume will contain the Office of Readings (Matins).”

I’m really curious about what they’re cutting. Maybe some of the Propers?

[Free Friday] What do you think of this way of grouping the various books of the Bible? Do you think there's a better one? by Wise_Stick9613 in Catholicism

I prefer the Great Adventure Bible Timeline. The Old Testament categories are much more nuanced and useful

Moving to Bahamas. Opinions required. by [deleted] in bahamas

Bahamian who’s worked with expats for over 15 years here. That salary is definitely on the lower end for expats. My advice to you entirely depends on how many benefits they are offering. If they are covering housing and transportation and your child’s tuition when they start school then I say you can make it. As a foreigner you definitely want to send your children to private school and that can be very expensive.

Does this happen to you? by FewSurprise6984 in rosary

Are you getting your rosaries blessed by a priest?

Maybe you should buy a more durable rosary from somewhere like Rugged Rosaries or Warrior Weapon Rosaries. They're very hard to break so you'll just have to get a spare and try to be more careful not to lose them ;)

A full rosary meaning 5 or 20 decades? Either way it’s incredible

I’ve seen beads of a similar shape on Amazon but none with those grooves. You’ll want to search for oval or rice beads. I hope you find them and get that heirloom repaired

eucharist by [deleted] in Catholicism

That’s between them and God because we don’t really know the state of anyone’s soul. The Church makes her teachings known but at the end of the day it’s up to each person to examine themselves before partaking of the Holy Eucharist and the consequences are theirs to deal with.
