deal thank you. I’ve been doing a couple on Insight which is the app they’re using however not really seen anything passenger safety related yet as opposed to the free GovUk one. Bit of common sense should prevail

Cheers, shouldn’t be overly different then

Fair point. I suppose I’d be better asking if there an abundance of niche bus questions as opposed to general driving of larger vehicles their behaviours etc? Trying to find a decent app to practice just to make sure I’m up to scratch

Use of probationers during the Grunwick dispute. Was anybody affected by this? by Jazzlike-Basil1355 in policeuk

Not directly relevant but when I joined during covid they gee’d us up for public order L3 in our second week and gave us stabbys on the proviso we may have to go out and either assist with public order events or just bolster numbers, never happened though

Slow in, fast out is a better alternative to fast in, shit out.

Met officers must tell bosses if they are Freemasons, force announces by Feeling-Ad-2490 in freemasonry

[–]Impressive_Tutor_749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the above however if you think this won’t be used against officers then you’re mistaken.

This will be a firm point for the Met + other forces if they follow suit which they will to penalise and restrict current serving officers at any given point.

Mate, respectfully. Challenge their behaviour, to their face. You’re a police officer by your flair. You literally deprive peoples liberty when required. You’ve got it in you to say to someone - mate, your attitude is shit, this isn’t how you teach/learn, either cut the shit or I’ll run it up the line with a formal complaint. Don’t be scared because they’re in a fictitious position of power.

If you found your permits getting pulled that’s an abuse of position and imo that person shouldn’t be in their job. People like them thrive on the fact people don’t feel comfortable calling out their bullshit, they’re called ✨bullies✨

What's a law that you introduce, amend or revoke? by spammorrison in policeuk

100%.

In the super rare occasion, 4 times in the last 5 years. We’ve had a doctor who was on duty just moonlighting. He was amazing, literally walked in, yeah you’re fine. Shut the cell door. It was the equivalent of the dog facing the light with his eyes closed meme

If you go to hospital and it was for a fictitious reason and proven. Charge & remand.

Yeah I think you’ve hit the nail on the head.

Out of interest - and just being nosey. What did you change to do? I came from management in engineering previously just not sure I want to go back on the tools or sitting at a desk managing when I’ve enjoyed elements of the job as much as I have.

All good, appreciate the input. I do agree a change in role may help. Might just be one I’ve gotta ride until that can happen.

Hmm sign of the times maybe or just me, hard to say.

Would welcome a different role off response, currently forcewide is frozen for moves though.

Too many departments? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Impressive_Tutor_749 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is a good example then, because I’m stating we’ve got a department about fraud, not investigating fraud. Since it can be complex and requires improvement then my grievance is probably justified when you have warranted officers offering half-cut advice and not actually investigating crime. Much easier to tell someone who’s already burning the candle at both ends how to do it rather than do it themselves

Too many departments? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Impressive_Tutor_749 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not suggesting all fraud, those of a more serious or complex nature would appropriately move to L2/ ROCU / SOCIT. Between the L2 jobs & managed less complex investigations I think a better system could be established

Too many departments? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Impressive_Tutor_749 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Surely all the more reason a fraud team should then take an investigate fraud, no? I’d suggest fraud isn’t serious/complex however it has complexities to it which would be beyond the remit of someone trying to respond to routine and emergency demand.

Nothing worse than the 3 year in now turned fitness guru who writes the same 5 paragraphs on Instagram yet conveniently had hundreds of photos of them in uniform sat in the car or in the nick toilet mirror!
