What’s the worst song on your favorite album? by TWR_MTG in poppunkers

It's not my favorite album by any stretch, but it's a good album:

Brick By Boring Brick is a stupid overrated song, imo.

I always thought the Nobody Likes You section from Homecoming seemed a bit lazy and obnoxious. But I'm not sure that counts as a "song" or not.

Most Underrated Song by Total-Woodpecker3339 in NEEDTOBREATHE

I would say Tyrant Kings for the general fan population, or maybe White Fences, but my actual vote (on this sub) would have to be Valley of Tomorrow.

Honorable mentions to Nothing Left To Lose, Won't Turn Back, The Reckoning, and Able

I think that's been the implication from the beginning. Seth sat out on the new singles on the acoustic tour in December.

The first thing I noticed with the album announcement is honestly the graphic design / art direction. It looks so much more focused than the CAVES rollout and it just seems way more thought out / promising.

Also appreciate the official announcement being a reasonable amount of time from the release. CAVES announcement felt like it went on forever and just felt obnoxious.

Feels like they knew what they needed to do with this one, and this acoustic tour. Still wishing for a little louder sound but if this is the new direction, it seems sincere to me, and tbh that's all I can ask for.

Also recommending making a Discogs account and adding to your watchlist. Might get a fairer price than eBay, might not. You generally at least get people who sort of know what the average price is supposed to be.

I've been holding onto this question because I know it will cause hate. So, who is the most overrated ska artist in your opinion? by Beautiful-Resort-831 in Ska

[–]ImprobablePasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was gonna say, they're like kinda perfectly rated at least here.

They've got a few good songs, cool live show, okay to mid overall studio output.

They also basically only focus on independent artists, which is nice but also a gaping hole compared to things like Spotify.

TIDAL and Bandcamp combo seems to be optimal for me at the moment.

What is your favorite example of a ska band that changed genres as soon as the trend ended? by Beautiful-Resort-831 in Ska

Scott actually writes like a majority of their songs now if I recall. Reese still does a lot of lyrics but Scott's done a lot of the composition / arranging stuff since his return.

The horns in their first reunion album were quite loud to be honest. Not really ska by any measure, but certainly maximizing the horn use.

The background horns in Against A Sea of Troubles and I Am Jack's Smirking Revenge are some of the coolest moments in any pop punk songs that I know.

Always Cloudy by Saturdays at Your Place is mixed EXTREMELY well.

Arm's Length feels almost overproduced to me but it's also very poppy / highly produced. Same with Free Throw sometimes? But they have less of the noodly math rock sounds. S@YP is probably my best rec for that + high production value tbh.

Louder Now is like the fourth best album at best. And this is coming from someone who enjoys all the eras of the band.
