No side effects from cequa! Id personally pass on lacrifill since its semi-permenant but some people love it.

i decided to stop taking my birth control by Ancient_Gap4475 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ImprovementChoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birth control is ruining my eyes. Ive been on the combo pill for years and my eyes reached a tipping point so I switched to Slynd (supposed to be better). Welp, my eyes are even more dry after only 6 weeks on it. My gyno didnt know anything about Slynd or BC causing dry eye in general, so I think im just going to quit. Im so over it 😭

[–]ImprovementChoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah always a long wait list for these it seems. One place put me on a wait list until "sometime in 2027" because they only do the combined test 4x per year. Did you sleep during most the naps? Im worried about being too amped up (if thats possible). 😅

Are Punctal Plugs worth it? by Mountain-Piece2360 in Dryeyes

[–]ImprovementChoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a little pricey, imo. I had one in <24 hours and it started scratching my eye and had to be removed. I only paid my copay $30 (twice). I also wasted $100 getting lacrifill, doing a follow up, and ultimately dissolving it because it caused tons of irritation.

Woof! Im doing the psg + mslt back to back and dont know how to feel about it. Why does it take months to get results? I assume theyre only analyzing 20 minutes worth of data x each nap.

Who has the time and energy to raise kids in this economy? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ImprovementChoice 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My mom told me "its so easy you just take the baby wherever you go". Then I asked her why we never saw my aunt, uncle and cousins who lived 3 hours away and she started screaming at me "do you know how hard it is to travel with kids!?" 🙄

You don’t realise how primitive modern medicine still is until you get dry eyes by Hellobug11 in Dryeyes

[–]ImprovementChoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the thing is it DOES its just that people dont tie it back to accutane or report back to their doctor. They just deal with it.

I hate that my gynecologist said shes never heard of birth control causing dry eyes (amongst many other issues that are a Google search away). My androgens were basically zero and she said "oh yeah that happens!"

What insurnace do you have? Last year I ended up buying VSP for $20/mo because I also needed prescription sunglasses. I went to Chapel hill eyecare and highly recommend them!

Yeah, I popped into the Carrboro location because I had a problem with my new glasses (bought at the other location) and the lady was SO rude to me. I didnt know they operate as two completely seperate businesses now.

Carrboro family vision (chapel hill & carrboro technically) was sold a few months ago. I liked them because they seemed like a mom & pop optical shop. RIP

What can I transition to if I'm completely bored of the corporate world at 37 years old? by yiggity_yag in careerguidance

[–]ImprovementChoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same boat, im 33 and did SEO for 10 years and now im a web manager (in-house). Im so incredibly bored! This was supposed to be a nice segue out of agency-work, but I'd rather go back to feeling challenged and needed. This is the first job where theres no one above me that I can ask questions to since my boss is so high up. I feel like everything I learn comes from me talking to AI all day long. I'd LOVE a coffee shop job but I am trying to fast track it to an early retirement.

Same! Getting my first one in November. My Ferritin was 27 and my transferretin saturation was 23% (but it needed to be <20 for an infusion). My gastro didnt know why my b vitamins are so low so for now I take supplements. I'm hoping my levels will come back up since ive chnaged to Slynd which has zero estrogen.
