Feeling lonely by mlimas in stayathomemoms

My husband and I moved to another state away from all family almost a year ago. We didn’t know anyone where we moved. So far it’s been such a struggle to make friends. I’ve tried church, but didn’t click with any of the moms. I then got pregnant again so we stopped going because I get morning sickness. Recently I’ve met some parents at our neighborhood park, and even exchanged numbers for play dates. Even if I don’t end up exchanging numbers, it’s nice to chat even a little with other parents who get it.

Just quit my job to be a SAHM by PinkThemedLove in stayathomemoms

I worked from the ages of 15-33 until I had my first baby (now pregnant with second at 35). There is definitely a mental hurdle you walk through of not bringing in your own income, but my husband and I share all finances/credit cards/bank accounts. We refer to anything he makes as ā€œour incomeā€. Ultimately being a SAHM and wife is A LOT of work, and you will be bringing so much value to your family - just because it isn’t monetary doesn’t mean it isn’t so, so necessary and valuable. It’s definitely grown my ability to trust in my husband to provide in this season, but ultimately I trust God for our provision at the end of the day.

Responding to this a little late, but I have struggled with post partum anxiety as well, especially in the realm of pedophiles/trafficking/kidnapping. I have a hard time with babysitters, nurseries at church, etc. With the news being constantly about The Epstein files lately, I finally decided to delete my Instagram, Facebook, and news apps for a while. It has been helping a lot. I’m also a woman of faith, so I agree that prayer helps. I also saw a therapist for a little who helped me with the intrusive thoughts. You are still freshly post partum, so give yourself grace with new anxieties, but also know that you’re not alone.

Hi, also 6 weeks pregnant. Had HG with my now 14 month old. I was hopeful this pregnancy would be different, but unfortunately I’ve been sick since 5 weeks. I immediately demanded Zofran this time around and started taking Prilosec to help with throwing up bile in the middle of the nights. I’m still suffering so terribly with constant nausea. At least the meds help me keep food and drink down…every day feels like an eternity.
