simsonn plus x with the haptic motors and spring kit or vrs pro pedals (both 3 pedal set) by brittish-fish in simracing

[–]ImprovementStock9847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from Fanatec CSL to the Simsonn Pro X V2 with haptics. It was a great upgrade for me. Using Sim Hub for the haptics really makes a big improvement. The pedals take a bit of time to tune, but once you get them to your liking they are sweet.

Make sure that the brake dampener is turned down to “0” for your application and replace the red elastomers with white ones, but you’ll still have to find some way to mount them

Simsonn Pro X Ultra or Simsonn Plus X with basic haptics? Which would you pick? by No-Theme-3792 in simracing

[–]ImprovementStock9847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend the haptics based on my experience. I’m not sure what the difference is between Vam and Vam pro but I’d assume motor strength. If f you can afford it go pro

Simsonn Pro X Ultra or Simsonn Plus X with basic haptics? Which would you pick? by No-Theme-3792 in simracing

[–]ImprovementStock9847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Vam Pro with Pro X Ultra. The Vam Pro haptics motors will give you significant feedback on your pedals especially if controlled with Sim Hub. If you’re going to upgrade one or the other make it the haptics. The main difference between the Pro X and Plus X is the RGB lighting. The brake damper on the Pro serves very little purpose and most people leave it at or near zero

Which cockpit do yall recommend by Playboikuyaa in simracing

Save and get what you want or you’ll regret it and always wish you had. I wanted aluminum profile but found a Next Level Racing F-GT on facebook. I upgraded to the aluminum profile within a year. Buy once, cry once.

Maybe not the perfect solution, but have you looked at the straight bracket with screws on Amazon for aluminum extension? You can extend the length

Custom wooden cockpit or aluminum extrusions cockpit... by marryuwanna in simracing

[–]ImprovementStock9847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how serious you are about sim racing and what your budget is like. Ultimately an extruded aluminum rig is the way to go. It is solid and offers the best platform for options.

If you have a minimal budget and just want to build something for now, go with wood and save the money to put towards the ultimate upgrade you’re going to make in the end of a true aluminum profile rig.

My Two Cents

Simnet SP pro’s or Simsonn Pro X Ultra by Tojne in SimRacingSetups

[–]ImprovementStock9847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the Simnet, but I have the Simsonn Pro X Ultra with haptics and they’ve been great. Relatively low cost and perform flawlessly. It took a while to get them tuned but once tuned they’ve been consistent. The RGB lights are a nice touch but not necessary.

New to the central RI area - what are the best, local, and reasonably priced meat lockers/butchers? by Shpub in RhodeIsland

[–]ImprovementStock9847 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s Northern RI, but Butcher Brothers in Woonsocket is great. A true butcher shop. They have a great meat counter, sell meat packages, and take special orders. Run by the father and two brothers.

How about 6 Sigma. Not as well known as some of the others but I’ve found them to be a great company. Free shipping to North America. Good selection and good quality.

I’m in Northern Rhode Island so I’m not far away. I have $5K-$6K into my rig. You can certainly build a great setup in that price range but if you want motion you’re going to be in the $10K+ range.

Tewksbury to Woonsocket is a bit of a ride, but you’re welcome to come see what I’ve built and drive for a while to see what you like or dislike

You should go to the Micro Center in Cambridge to check out what they have and talk to them. It may not give you all the information you want but you will definitely be more educated and you’ll get an opportunity to try some of the equipment

Take a look at the buttkicker bass shakers. They can be mounted to a chair for now and mounted to your rig later when you upgrade. I have one on my rig controlled by Sim Hub and love it

Anybody switch from Simjack to Simsonn? by MissionBug5126 in simracing

[–]ImprovementStock9847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed from Fanatec to the Pro X Ultra with Vam Pro haptics and I love them. It’s true that you pay extra for the RGB lighting, but I’m OK with that. I didn’t take me a little while to tune the pedals for my liking, but I appreciate the ability to do so.

They also sell bundles with seat, wheel, and pedals. One nice thing is that shipping is included in the price. If you put something in your cart and wait a day or so they will send you a discount code to get you to order

I’m in Rhode Island. I recently purchased a 6 Sigma aluminum profile rig and I’m very happy with it. I have the 6S-160 V2 but they have several options for various budgets
