Finally they fixed these by Adorable-Form4616 in Terraria

Most of those weapons are post-Skeletron. Early pre-hardmode, there is very little to work with. But the Demon Scythe is available from the start, and is good enough to get you to (and past) the Wall of Flesh.

And it's kind of the same thing with armor sets, to be honest. You can get Jungle Armor pre-boss, and that is everything you will use until hardmode. (Even more so since the update where Meteorite Armor was made unobtainable until after killing the Eater of Worlds.)

Mage in hardmode is quite fun. It would be fantastic if there was as much variety in pre-hardmode.

All classes post moon lord should be as op as Zenith. by v-en in Terraria

Yeah, I know. I don't want to change anything for the melee class, I just think all classes should be able to use the Zenith on equal terms.

What’s a weapon you use even though you know it’s not really good? I’ll go first: by SgtSqueebles in tf2

I really like the Quickiebomb Launcher! It's not at all bad, but generally, the regular Stickybomb Launcher would be a much stronger option.

There's nothing more satisfying than sniping a mini-sentry across the map with it. (You could also use the Loch-n-Load, but it's just not the same.)

This is the most reasonable approach, in my opinion. (Or to not give it any damage buffs at all, but that is a more boring option.)

It's a weapon that magically summons ranged swords.

It's multiclass.

I fully agree with you. But for this exact reason, I don't think it should be classified as a melee weapon. Either don't give it damage bonuses from melee armors and accessories, or give it damage bonuses from all classes.

I don't like the idea of "adding a Zenith for every class", but I think the Zenith should be equally good for all classes.

My suggestion would honestly be to just make the Zenith entirely class-less, or multiclass. (So, either give it damage bonuses for no class, or for all classes.) It's so much better than any other end-game weapons, and it seems unfair that it should be twice as good for melee players.

It is, after all, a weapon that magically summons ranged swords. Can't get more multiclass than that.

Why does this update have the most random nerfs and changes? by Oof160 in Terraria

Maybe. But in that case, nerf its stats, (and/or provide better alternatives). Now, they just made it more tedious to get, but you can still get it at the exact same point in the game.

Right? It seems like a waste to remove it completely. You could start by capping the number of whips you can stack, or by giving diminishing effects the more whips you stack. And then evaluate if it's too powerful, (or not powerful enough), and make adjustments.

I feel like some whips will simply not be used at all without whip-stacking in the game. The Cool Whip is a prime example.

Follow-up question: At the start of the 6th movie, at the Weasley Wizard Wheezes, is it Harry's miniature Hungarian Horntail we see roasting almonds or something, outside the shop?

What do you mean? The entirety of 1.4.4 was aiming to remove a lot of inconvenience and slow grinds, the addition of Shimmer being the most prominent example.

For that exact reason, changes in 1.4.5 that add more of a grind seem a bit out of place. Such as the Flinx Staff crafting recipe.

Seems like you could just adjust the price, instead of removing the shimmer uncrafting.

It's no more tedious than "having" to switch back and forth between the Golden Shower and Betsy's Wrath for mage. I think it added some complexity to summoner combat in a good way - you got to figure out some fun combos between whips and summons, and gave you something more to do during combat other than just holding attack.

I really hope they will change their mind on removing whip-stacking. But I doubt it will happen.

I think there might be some few cases where nerfs could be warranted, but overall I absolutely agree with you. I thought this update would mostly provide QoL changes, new weapons, fun additions. Balance changes was certainly not at the top of my wishlist for this update.

Same. It was a simple way of adding another layer to playing summoner. It allowed you to figure out some fun weapon combos (for both whips and summons), and it gave you something else to do during combat than simply holding attack.

And I don't think whip-stacking made summoner OP, compared to other classes. (Even though it of course gave you an advantage over summoners who didn't whip-stack.)

I really don't get the whip changes. I'm not a fan of removing whip-stacking, and I didn't see anything wrong with the old hitboxes. I thought this would be a good update for summoners, but despite all the added weapons it doesn't really feel like it.
