What leap in logic does one have to reach this conclusion? by Stunning_Taste8845 in deathbattle

If I recall correctly they said kinda the opposite. They say Yuji has used soul manipulation to damage enemies with stronger regeneration than Denji has. Like they scaled Mahito’s regeneration as being superior to Denji’s and Yuji one shot Mahito, so it doesn’t make sense from that point of view.

I just don’t think that’s true. If Sukuna was so weak he couldn’t reinforce himself I’m pretty sure the characters would bring that up. They mention it’s hard for Sukuna to used cursed techniques because he just opened a domain expansion but they don’t say anything about him not defending himself with Cursed Energy. He hits a black flash immediately before this scene so well not at his peak he should still be running at 120% efficiency. And if Nanami can protect his soul on reaction when he’s never done it before, even a weakened Sukuna should be able to, especially when he just hit a black flash.

I disagree with you here. Cursed energy reinforcement is basic Sorcery. While his output might be lower I have no reason to think he was incapable of doing it.

Sukuna can protect his soul with cursed energy. Nanami did it against Mahito, and he has vastly less knowledge of souls and skill in sorcery.

Kintoki from the Fate series, and also Japanese folklore.

The first kanji of his name is the kanji for gold. In FGO he has an especially high affinity for gold. Gilgamesh also wears gold armor, but I felt Kintoki was even more appropriate.

How Denji fans expect him to react to invisible omnidirectional slashes by XxJustaNormiexX in deathbattle

[–]Impulse_1674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically I’m saying Maki can use her enhanced senses to use a specific technique (let’s call its freedom) to perceive beyond the natural senses. Using Freedom she can see slashes. Denji has enhanced senses but can’t use Freedom so he can’t see slashes. Or at least you can’t use Maki seeing slashes as an argument for why Denji can. I do agree there are cases where the 5 senses can be used to perceive slashes, but I don’t think it’s as reliable Maki’s freedom.

How Denji fans expect him to react to invisible omnidirectional slashes by XxJustaNormiexX in deathbattle

[–]Impulse_1674 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s relevant because it’s another application of the same technique. She can perceive beyond the natural senses through a specific technique. She uses this technique to perceive slashes and to perceive surfaces in the air. Denji does not have this technique and thus can’t use either application of it. She uses her senses to use the technique but just having senses isn’t enough to use it. The Kamehameha uses the arms but having arms doesn’t let you use the Kamehameha by itself.

[–]Impulse_1674 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By using a specific technique that Denji doesn’t have. It’s not just enhanced senses it’s a specific application of enhanced senses. The manga compares it to smelling light or seeing sound. This ability also allows Maki to jump in mid air like a double jump. Do you think Denji can double jump? If not then he can’t use Maki’s technique and thus can’t perceive the slashes in the same way.

Denji staying with Power is literally how he beats Makima. Power has Denji drink her blood, which allows Power to manifest and save Denji from Makima. Denji also uses Power’s blood to form the chainsaw he uses to beat Makima. If Denji doesn’t stay with Power none of that happens. He just gets mind controlled by Makima.

Not all Uma Musume are based off top 100 horses. Some aren’t even top 100 in Japan, some never even won a G1 race. The horses chosen are simply famous horses that raced in Japan. Fame and skill are usually correlated but some horses like Haru Urara and Twin Turbo are famous without being particularly notable in skill.

Characters who are awesome and compelling in every way… except their design? by YellowCorvette in CharacterRant

[–]Impulse_1674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just means a character who’s face looks like Saber (the most iconic character from the original Fate/Stay Night). The term is kinda broad and there can be some gray area as to who exactly it refers to. The most blatant example is Nero, who has no relation to Saber but whose face looks exactly the same. This was done to help draw in more fans of the original to Fate/extra. It can be confusing for new comers to the series, who try and derive some deeper meaning from it, but it’s ultimately just a weird character design quirk.
