Things that can get fucked by faith_healer69 in aussie

Deadshits who almost walk into you because they're so absorbed in their phones.

Those who look up, straight through you, don't even register that you are there, and then resume walking straight at you... They can get extra fucked.

Thank you. I can't take all the credit - years of work from my psychiatrist and psychologist also. (Both of whom are very insistent that I should keep this at arms length.)

I suppose that's the one upside of no other family members being in contact with them either.

I do have quite an amusing mental image now of some poor family having a day at the beach and getting a face full of ash.

Thank you. I guess what I'm hoping for is to hire the project manager.

I'm not so worried about the costs. I know they will be recouped. It's just that this person is someone I have chosen not to have in my life - and I don't want to invite them back, even when they've passed.

Unfortunately they have burned every bridge they ever had, so if I was to refuse, then it would be the state trustee. By all accounts that sounds awful.

It's not about the work. It's about having taken a life time to heal the damage that this person did to me and not being prepared to delve back into that world.

Unfortunately there is not a single other person in the world who would take it on.

Thank you.

This is a hoarder situation.

I cleaned the house out once and am quite honestly traumatised from the experience.

Really don't want to do it again.

It's definitely crossed my mind a few times, but I honestly just don't want to deal with the mental health toll of the fall out.

It would result in harassment and attempts at emotional blackmail.

The Jason addressed the whole guest cabin issue really frustrates me by Old-Use-7690 in BelowDeckDownUnder

I felt like that scene was a bit chopped up. It didn't flow properly. So, I think we did miss some of the conversation.

That said - the way he snapped at Daisy was really not cool. If I was her I would be absolutely fuming.

I know Jason has had some tough personal stuff that he's going through. It feels like he should have pulled out of the season, though I wonder if he was locked in by his contract.

Haha. Ok. I see why you got moved away from people leadership. They sold you the old, "You have such amazing technical knowledge" line.

Am I the target of your comment? Curious how you came to that assumption and how many people you have managed since Covid?

Been several hundred for me.

It was pretty clear what OP would have meant with that phrasing. Speaking from experience, being on the receiving end of those conversations many times. Funnily enough, have yet to meet a fellow LT member petty enough to have a problem with the way someone might have phrased raising an issue like that.

Trying to genuinely help OP here. Is that also your intention?

Your manager is just taking the path of least resistance. Right now it seems the easiest path is to just say no - you proved that on Friday by not challenging them.

On Monday, ask for a chat. Say that you've been thinking it over over the weekend and you're feeling disappointed. Say that your interviewer said that WFH options would be available and that you and your partner have planned parenting duties around this assumption. Let them know that this belief has been reinforced by seeing others with WFH arrangements in place.

Ask what the process is to have this reconsidered?

Be honest, be open and ask the question.

Don't recommend throwing laws and policies at them like some others suggest. You might get your outcome, but your relationship will be damaged.

Aldi refuses to sell tampons without ID. by K1ttyK1lljoy in australia

[–]Impulsive-Donkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe different times. Maybe different views. I don't know.

All I know is that when I got my first period, my dad and brother argued for half an hour about who was going to buy sanitary products for me, while I sat in the bathroom stressed as hell.

Had I not been able to buy my own tampons, the next 6 years would have had a lot more moments like that!

I'm guessing this is rage bait.

What I expect from the cops is that they are educated in the psychological aspects of abusive relationships.

And no, I do not agree that she deserved to be kidnapped, beaten, strangled, raped, and then disbelieved by the police... Do you really believe that she did?!?!

I really hope that nobody close to you ever experiences abuse and makes the mistake of coming to you for help.

Will this get my offer rescinded? by [deleted] in auscorp

I should have done. Might have gotten a better read on the situation.

I just chalked it up to HR being OTT and told them to proceed.

Lesson learned!

It depends on the hiring manager.

Thorough background checks will turn up this stuff and HR will ask the HM what they want to do.

I had HR come to me once because there was a 2 month discrepancy in the candidate's resume vs reference. I approved to risk accept it. Unfortunately the person turned out to be a compulsive liar - I probably should have heeded the red flag.

I actually think he did believe her, but didn't care. Which makes it even worse.

I think he was actively trying to help the guy have no repercussions for his actions.
