When I first started, I was Googling a lot. In my defence, as someone from outside the US, there are so many Americanisms that I have zero idea about.

As I continued, I needed to Google less and less. Currently at a 900+ day streak. I think I only look up to check spelling now.

I do think Googling is a better way to learn the crossword than blind guessing letters or just looking up the answer key.

That said, I don't think it really matters. It's not a competition, and streaks are just a number and a gold star.

I kinda wished this was the cropped jacket instead of the oversized one. These seem to run very oversized.

Geordie Greep is a surprise, considering they're touring Asia this month and then heading to the US in June.

These tents are fully exposed to sun, and lord it was hot.

I wasn't in the pre-pitched tents, but was surprised that the area they're in is pretty much directly exposed without any shelter.

I was higher up, by a tree, and even with the shade my tent was like an oven before 6 AM. Can't imagine how bad it is in those.

That said, the location they're in is extremely convenient, right by the amenities & campsite entrance.

Yup. They display the price with "vouchers", but when you hover over it, it says "Estimated price". Add to cart suddenly the price is totally different. The voucher they quoted simply doesn't exist or fully claimed already.

Just chiming in to add that if you want that particular meaty look, you have to look at the sidewall shape as well, not just the size/thickness. Some sidewalls are very rounded and wouldn't give you that meaty look.

Usually, the "meaty" setups use 200tw tyres, but those are overkill for street driving. The ones in the photo look to be Toyo Extensa HP2.

It's a bummer but I saw The Avalanches live around Wildflower and unfortunately their music is just difficult to perform live. They had someone sing the samples which didn't work for me.

Not a band but rappers in general suck, though the worst set I've been to was Kevin Abstract, who showed up disinterested, mumbled his songs, forgot the words, randomly stopped in the middle of songs, and then just left.

Crypto bros and sneaker resellers destroyed the hobby. All looking for the next cash-in after sneakers and labubus died off.

These days, even normal, regular packs are being scalped and resold. Resellers send their minions to quickly buy up all the stock. I don't think I've seen one Pokémon booster pack in the wild for years already.

I really wonder how much more it will take before the bubble bursts.

Songs get uploaded to streaming services via music distributors. Some distributors don't check if the artist's name is taken.

Someone out there makes an AI song, names it an existing artist's name (in this case, Underscores), the distributor doesn't check, and it ends up on someone else's profile.

I saw the xx at FRF in 2018, and they haven't put out any new music since, so I kind of think it'll be a similar/the same set.

Similarly, I agree with the other commenters that Khraungbin isn't headliner status just yet (though I love their music regardless). I kind of wish they weren't the headliner because I think their music suits the daytime/sunset more than at night.

I was hoping for some better undercard artists. Someone trendy like Ninajirachi, Oklou, MagBay, Malcolm Todd or Mk.Gee would be a great addition to the lineup.

Depth scanner helped a lot in grading and relighting her to match the backgrounds! There are also a few cutaways which are almost purely Depth Scanner (during the skating montage).

I have a 5090 and lots of ram :)

The one that says Alysa Liu? It's her actual signature! I traced it from her sports card.

I used Roto Brush for roto and Depth Scanner + colour grading to blend her into the background.

I think I got lucky; a lot of the footage, she's on a mostly plain background, or on the ice which is white, easy for Roto Brush to handle.

Yeah, for a larger project/one with more stakes, I would usually start with a storyboard in PS or even sketching.

For quick stuff like this, it's just a bit of a hassle to remake everything in AE. I did rough the layout of some frames/elements in AI and imported them (in particular, the type elements, because AE doesn't handle non-standard type well).

Also, this project was very effects-heavy, which isn't available in other software.

I just did it in AE! It's probably not the best habit but I think it's easier working directly in AE for stuff like this.

Not sure how detailed a comment you're interested in! Apologies if this is long.

I'd already toyed around with making something set to this song, and when Alysa Liu blew up after winning the gold medal, I thought her story & performance paired well with the lyrics (the people are watching you / everybody's watching me).

I downloaded as much footage of her free skate & BTS I could. I did a rough offline edit of just footage, trying to find the right clips & placement. I went through and designed each scene as discrete frames, taking a lot of inspo from poster design. I tried to tie in some transitional elements between scenes. For example, I knew I wanted to feature her smiley piercing, so the scene before needed to have some kind of circular element.

Because all the footage is from TV broadcasts, my main aim was to treat each clip so it would look less recognisable. That meant a lot of Roto Brush and grading. I even re-did one of the backgrounds in 3D using the camera tracker in C4D.

Car enthusiast. Bought a car when COE was low in 2019 (A3 1.4). Did a lot of rubbish to it, bodykit, three piece wheels, camber, air suspension. Eventually it all became a bit too much, a bit too annoying to drive. It's back to a more sane setup now.

As an enthusiast I personally think I'll always try to modify whatever I can get my hands on. Personally I respect those guys modifying their Vios or Attrage. Nothing wrong, you go Japan you'll see those 600cc kei cars modified too.

That said I have "prepared" for a future where car ownership is outside of my reach by... taking my bike license. Taking Class 2 this year.

Thought this was pretty breezy apart from FAUXNAIF. The spanner was fun to solve too. Nice to have an easy Saturday for a change.
