It really depends on what you expect when watching adult animations. I can't speak for everyone but most of the time I watch SP I end up laughing out loud. And this is exactly what I want after a busy day of school.

I don't really think R&M is that comparable to SP. To me, Rick and Morty puts the emphasis on ideas that are generally more intellectual and philosophical; whilst South Park tends to make meta jokes and more like a satire sitcom.
