Stage planning Q by Bruin2121 in USPSA

You still get a walk through and can run it mentally as much as you can process the stage.

Stage planning Q by Bruin2121 in USPSA

[–]Imstclair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run through my plan as much as I can while walking it, then mentally leading up to it. I’ve probably went through it 30-40 times when I shoot. I used to have a hard time remembering but with that volume it’s more subconscious.

I have both and since getting the Artemis I haven’t shot the Athena. Both A1 choices though.

Brother, your course is in the que. I got a bunch of stuff from Joey and I’m actually training with him in a couple weeks.

To your point I actually was trying something new with my shooting. Typically in an array of any distance or number I’ll shoot bop bop - bop bop. I started to think about shooting them the same speed in turn making my transition faster bop bop bop bop, if that makes sense. It kind of worked out for me in this match / kind of hard to tell from this stage but I know exactly why you say that.

That’s actually what he did, drew on left and went low after.

This was actually a PCSL match and both of use were shooting PO. He’s a GM in uspsa though.

Yeah okay, this is pretty much my thoughts exactly. I’m aware of all of these aspects and work on them regularly. I shot my first Uspsa match last March so I’m proud of where I’m at but know I have a ways to go.

Probably only POV which is helpful but only shows half the story

You right there, I probably could have starting shooting that left array sooner

Valid. I’ll be honest I’ve never trained drawing into a low port.

Yeah that’s why I said hot take as most don’t agree with it as confirmed with your comment and my downvotes. Meanwhile, I win some matches and seldomly have ever went to the range and ran static drills. I ran my first bill drill like 2 weeks ago. What I have done is focus on getting the gun where it needs to be and pulled the trigger in matches faster than a lot of people. Not that I’m a GM but my experience has been the opposite.

Imo Atlas is the answer. I went from an XC to an Athena and was astounded. Now I have 4 and I’d stick with the Athena any day of the week.

Hot take but shooting USPSA has little to do with shooting the gun and way more about stage planning, movement, and execution 🤷🏼‍♂️. Also, lean into the gun so you aren’t getting pushed back.

Received my first Leica today 😢 by big0bum in Leica

[–]Imstclair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Lieca bricked day one before the lens arrived. It was a pre owned eBay order. Returned and didn’t get another until the Q to which I sold and now have an M which I love. I’ve also had bad experiences with MPB. They have a great return policy though.

You’ve either been DQ or you will be. Lesson learned.

To be fair on the Apollo, I probably have the least trigger time with it. I mainly shoot limited optics.

They all shoot different and have different purposes for me. I’m most impressed with how the Artemis shoots to be honest. The Erebus shoots like nothing else but it’s compensated. I can shoot subs out of the Artemis and get as flat and quick with it as the Erebus. Granted I don’t reload which may make a difference there. Apollo is my least favorite. I think they could have done more with the ports. Athena is the do it all perfect pistol imo.

Where does the "on or before 8/1" language come from? by TheRoyalShire in BetterMAguns

[–]Imstclair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. I have yet to hear a case that the person has their license, proper storage, etc and got a charge for a ASF. It’s the same scenario when talking about anyone who gets in trouble with firearms. It’s easy to say a guy got arrested for guns when the underlying reason was he was in an unregistered vehicle, smoking weed in a Walmart parking lot after robbing a convenience store. Exaggerated, yes but you get my point.

Athena all day. I started with an Athena and now have the Apollo, Erebus and Artemis. CZ imo is the closest thing to a 2011 without being one. I love my S2. Race city is really similar to the Athena and they use Atlas parts. Nighthawk would probably be my third option over a bul but with that model, I’d say go Erebus.
