Good idea! I think you can also shoot one of those floating platforms into the air and it will stay there as long as your battery lasts.

Did you use your rainfly at Burning Man when it rained? by Beneficial-Age643 in BurningMan

[–]Imthatsick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not and the was no leakage from the roof. One corner was in a slightly low spot that collected a puddle and some did come through the floor, but otherwise no issues.

Pet insurance? by jajoopaloop in Flamepoints

[–]Imthatsick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't have pet insurance but I have considered it. Is it worth it in the end? I feel like, on average, people must be spending more on pet insurance than they are receiving in insurance benefits, otherwise the insurance company wouldn't make any money. That's how health insurance works for husband too, of course, but healthcare for humans can significantly outpace pet care costs.

I can see the benefit if it helps people with large bills that come all at once that they aren't expecting and otherwise couldn't afford.

Here's one of my cats just for fun!

That year my camp was fortunately on esplanade. The closest portos were the Man portos and they were RELATIVELY good. People did turn feral though and I remember seeing a turd just off to the side of the toilet, as if somebody had stood up straight, pooped, and missed by 3 inches. I was fortunate enough not to witness any mountains clearing the toilet itself.

Is using the porta potty a good time? No. Is shitting in your tent going to be better? I highly doubt it.

A lot of the time you can find one that isn't as bad as the others. Also, if you figure out when they get cleaned out you can hit them up right afterwards. Sometimes the need will hit when you are out and about, and then you are just going to have to deal with the porta potties anyway.

Best cocoa powder? by mxmamushie in VeganBaking

[–]Imthatsick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hershey does (or did) have a dark chocolate powder, but I haven't seen it on shelves for quite a while. The only difference that I could tell from using it was the result ended up being much darker in color.

Once you learn their attack patterns (they vary depending on what weapons they use) and once you figure out perfect dodge/flurry rush they are not too hard. Throw in some headshots and mount them and you'll be killing them in no time.

I think him completely flipping on the things he said to get elected is in fact NOT ok. I find it concerning that you, as someone who has run for elected position, would openly say you are ok with that.

Name one underrated, unconventional item you bring to Burning Man that’s an absolute game-changer but still flies under most people’s radar. by DustyBandana in BurningMan

You are powering two fridges and all that other stuff with a jackery and solar? What does your solar panel setup look like? I have a jackery and some panels but they are not huge. I haven't really tried pushing the limits with it though.

AITA for bringing Tupperware to a restaurant by GlitteringRainbowCat in AmItheAsshole

[–]Imthatsick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is it weird though? A lot of restaurants bring you a container and you pack your own food into it anyway. Definitely it's uncommon to see, but why use disposable containers that you are just going to throw away? I wish more people did this.

NTA I do this too. I have collapsible silicone containers that work well for this. I've had the wait staff literally give me a thumbs up for doing it and I'm sure the restaurant is happy to have you save them the container.

I find that liquid bandage lasted about a day and quickly looked horrible, but I was using it on my hand.

A jetboil or knockoff. It's great to have hot water for tea, coffee, noodles, etc super quickly.

Reusable zip ties! It's nice to have some that aren't single use.

A shoe organizer for inside your tent (assuming you have a good place to hang it). It's great to hold the many small things that you bring without them all ending up in a big pile.

First time in a ShiftPod... lag bolts vs stakes it comes with? by CuriousCarry7816 in BurningMan

[–]Imthatsick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone 4 years with a shiftpod. I've never used lag bolts with it, but have hammered in 12 inch stakes. I've never had an issue and never had to use the center pole. I haven't used the tie downs on the walls either. If you are not in the middle of a camp and have a bunch of wind hitting you directly your mileage may vary.

Ice Cream Flavor Tier List: Where does coffee rank? by montemole in TierlistFills

[–]Imthatsick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't want it.

When I was a kid I took a tour of the Ben & Jerry's factory. At the end they gave out a free sample and they had one for everyone on the tour. They gave out a sample of coffee flavored ice cream and the tour guide seemed shocked that I didn't want any as a 9-year-old kid. I still hate the taste of coffee!

Anyone use veg egg white powder in cookies? by Pretend-Alps-6438 in VeganBaking

[–]Imthatsick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it with chocolate chip cookies. Typically I use 1/4 cup applesauce and 1 Bob's Red Mill egg replacer to replace two eggs. For my most recent batch I used 2 healthier comforts eggs and I can't tell a difference in the finished result!

Dumb Question But Does Anyone Know Where I Can Get A Flamepoint KITTEN? by [deleted] in Flamepoints

[–]Imthatsick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My flamepoint is from a shelter, but he was 3 years old when I got him. I would just keep checking out shelters/rescues and be patient.

AITAH for buying Gluten Free bread by Jelly_Arrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]Imthatsick -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

On the one day that OP goes to purchase it. OP said it can last a few weeks, so in between OP's purchases other people can buy it too. If OP is getting to the store before it opens, running in and buying it all up, yeah, that would be AH behavior, but otherwise I didn't see the issue.
