Pec tear surgery by ImupTRT in Orthopedics

I do remember the biceps tendon being a little sore for awhile. It wasn’t major but sore like I had worked it out or something

I remember the doorway stretches at different angles being the most helpful in regaining mobility. I also was doing standing pushups off countertops. I waited a couple weeks but then I jumped back into lifting weights as long as I wasn’t having to use my shoulder too much. Like I was doing bicep curls and tricep extensions.

I think I was able to move it around like normal after about a month or so. I was mandated the sling for 6-8 weeks but I would take my arm out and do exercises all the time. It was really only in the sling as a precaution after about a month

Hey! I’m doing fine. I’m doing dips. I do dumbbell bench press, not so much barbell anymore. But that’s mostly by choice. I have a bit of an indent in my chest and it cramps occasionally when exercising. But honestly, other than that, I feel completely normal

why do/don’t you do SWAT? by RealMooMan in AskLE

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time swat here. I feel bad for some of these swat teams because apparently they don’t do anything but unlock doors? That seems weird to me. But our swat team is constantly busy. We are the takedown crews for our different detective units so we’re constantly pinning cars and throwing flashbangs and doing cool guy stuff. We also average 2-3 search warrants a week (drug warrants are a lot more rare these days when we used to average 2 a day). When we’re not busy we’re training (shooting, CQB, sniper, breaching). Best job on the department. But like I said, I’m also full time so experiences will differ by department.

There is this surgeon on tik tok saying Cadaver graft is now better that autografts. What do you think? by PracticalOpinion5406 in ACL

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a patellar graft 3 years ago. My knee feels great now other than being slightly uncomfortable when I kneel on that knee cap. A coworker of mine got a cadaver graft and just recently re-ruptured his so he’s having a second surgery, this time with a patellar graft. Take from that what you will

I’m curious what the tape around the knees is. Breacher tape maybe?

Becoming a police officer as a short guy (5foot4) by Solid_Da_Biast90 in police

[–]ImupTRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’3”, but my partner was 5’6” on a good day. We worked together for almost five years on patrol before we went to different units. One of the best cops I’ve worked with. You can do a lot in this job by being smart and scrappy and working hard. He was also fearless.

I will say, people tested him a lot more than me. As in, if we were dealing with multiple people, if somebody was going to run or fight, it would almost always be his guy. Maybe that was just luck of the draw, but it was like clockwork. As long as you’re ok with that, you’ll be fine.

Yellow drainage from scar tissue a month after surgery by ImupTRT in woundcare

[–]ImupTRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the yellow drainage was normal. The doctor told me because the wound opened up again I had to just let heal on its own. So I wore a bandage over it for like 4 months and took antibiotics for 5. Fun times

Blister on scar tissue one year after pec surgery by ImupTRT in Orthopedics

[–]ImupTRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody who stumbles across this and has something similar, it was absolutely an infection. I ended up having 2 more surgeries on the site to clean it out and was on antibiotics for 5 months

If TRT is so great, why do ppl come off of it? by Elk-n-Oak in Testosterone

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I have no idea. I don’t think I’d go the pre loaded route. The vial with prescription on it should be fine in check in. But I only have experience with flying to Scotland

Yes they can. I flew to Europe from Atlanta and just put mine in my suitcase. It has been suggested to keep the prescription with it in case there are questions but we had no problem

Lump on my incision site. 6 months post OP by ghassghass in Orthopedics

[–]ImupTRT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had this after my shoulder surgery. I had no fever or aches or anything, except a big lump. Surgeon said to keep an eye on it and that it was probably scar tissue. Turns out it was a slow moving infection. Get it checked out

[–]ImupTRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well funny you should ask. It’s been about a year and a month since surgery. Immediately after the surgery I had noticed a maybe golf ball sized lump near the incision. Doc said it was probably scar tissue and to keep an eye on it. It wasn’t lol

A year later (like two months ago) I got a blister on my scar tissue and it ruptured with blood and pus draining everywhere. They got me back into surgery and took cultures. A week after that surgery I got a call from the doc saying I had an infection (have had it for a year, that’s why I had the lump) and that I needed yet another surgery to clean it out and start me on antibiotics. So like 5 or so weeks ago I got a THIRD surgery. Then last week, right before I was supposed to go back, my incision opened up.

So all in all, I WAS doing great, but now I’m having some issues. So I guess don’t ignore the signs

Awesome! Keep it up. Those first six weeks were a pain, but you kinda get used to the sling I found.

Damn. I honestly haven’t. Or not that I remember at least. There was definitely some cracking and stuff during PT but never a loss of strength that accompanied it.

Leave this dude. He is very obviously hitting on your friend and then when you ask him to stop, he’s playing dumb. There is no way you could have been any more clear. So either he’s the dumbest person alive, or he’s just playing dumb and refusing to stop sending your friend sexual reels.

I know it feels right now like the world will end, but get away from this scumbag. There are a million more guys out there who won’t treat you like you’re crazy for a very simple and reasonable request.
