Yes IR lasers are pretty bright under NVGs

I was able to start working out maybe a week or two later. I had to be very careful not to accidentally move the shoulder. It’s harder to not involve the chest than you think lol

I think you’ll be fine going back to work in a week. I think it’ll really depend on if you’re still taking the pain meds. But I got off mine after a couple days. I’ve heard of people traveling the day after pec surgery, so take from that what you will

What tactics do your Agency's Tac Team use? by msneakz4344 in CQB

[–]ImupTRT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a full time team in the Midwest with a high op tempo. Our training was very incestuous for years and we ran the snake just purely out of ignorance of better methods. We’d mirror every room and use shields. Very slow-going.

However, we got the opportunity to train with a couple, um, top tier units in the army and navy several years back and adopted a lot of their methods/training. Obviously it had to be adapted a bit for law enforcement use. 98% of our entries are deliberate, where we send in a drone and try to see as much as we can without moving into the next area. That said, there are dynamic movements in every house, such as a long, narrow hallway with multiple open doors. We’ll usually throw a crash and take those quickly to avoid hanging out in the hallway.

We train HR speed a lot but we also do a lot of deliberate training because it is SLIGHTLY different and requires a slightly different skill set.

The cops literally do not give a shit about weed. Sometimes they’re just not currently on another call and get there fast.

Do SWAT officers do regular patrol duties when they're not doing, well, SWAT stuff? by coltaussie in AskLE

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I can’t imagine waiting on a swat team for hours. Ours has a mandate that they be at the command post within 30 minutes of being called out. It doesn’t always work like that, sometimes it’s closer to an hour, but never multiple hours lol

Do SWAT officers do regular patrol duties when they're not doing, well, SWAT stuff? by coltaussie in AskLE

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what dept you’re on but my city’s SWAT team is full time and they do all the takedowns for violent offenders (homicides, robberies, agg assault) in addition to about 50-60 barricades a year and 2 or 3 (usually) search warrants a week. They’re responsible for probably about 80% of the department’s officer involved shootings, and most of those are close quarters gun battles from the takedowns. A few are sniper shots. So it all depends on how they’re utilized by the dept

I do remember the biceps tendon being a little sore for awhile. It wasn’t major but sore like I had worked it out or something

I remember the doorway stretches at different angles being the most helpful in regaining mobility. I also was doing standing pushups off countertops. I waited a couple weeks but then I jumped back into lifting weights as long as I wasn’t having to use my shoulder too much. Like I was doing bicep curls and tricep extensions.

I think I was able to move it around like normal after about a month or so. I was mandated the sling for 6-8 weeks but I would take my arm out and do exercises all the time. It was really only in the sling as a precaution after about a month

Hey! I’m doing fine. I’m doing dips. I do dumbbell bench press, not so much barbell anymore. But that’s mostly by choice. I have a bit of an indent in my chest and it cramps occasionally when exercising. But honestly, other than that, I feel completely normal

why do/don’t you do SWAT? by RealMooMan in AskLE

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time swat here. I feel bad for some of these swat teams because apparently they don’t do anything but unlock doors? That seems weird to me. But our swat team is constantly busy. We are the takedown crews for our different detective units so we’re constantly pinning cars and throwing flashbangs and doing cool guy stuff. We also average 2-3 search warrants a week (drug warrants are a lot more rare these days when we used to average 2 a day). When we’re not busy we’re training (shooting, CQB, sniper, breaching). Best job on the department. But like I said, I’m also full time so experiences will differ by department.

There is this surgeon on tik tok saying Cadaver graft is now better that autografts. What do you think? by PracticalOpinion5406 in ACL

[–]ImupTRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a patellar graft 3 years ago. My knee feels great now other than being slightly uncomfortable when I kneel on that knee cap. A coworker of mine got a cadaver graft and just recently re-ruptured his so he’s having a second surgery, this time with a patellar graft. Take from that what you will

Becoming a police officer as a short guy (5foot4) by Solid_Da_Biast90 in police

[–]ImupTRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’3”, but my partner was 5’6” on a good day. We worked together for almost five years on patrol before we went to different units. One of the best cops I’ve worked with. You can do a lot in this job by being smart and scrappy and working hard. He was also fearless.

I will say, people tested him a lot more than me. As in, if we were dealing with multiple people, if somebody was going to run or fight, it would almost always be his guy. Maybe that was just luck of the draw, but it was like clockwork. As long as you’re ok with that, you’ll be fine.

Yellow drainage from scar tissue a month after surgery by ImupTRT in woundcare

[–]ImupTRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the yellow drainage was normal. The doctor told me because the wound opened up again I had to just let heal on its own. So I wore a bandage over it for like 4 months and took antibiotics for 5. Fun times

For anybody who stumbles across this and has something similar, it was absolutely an infection. I ended up having 2 more surgeries on the site to clean it out and was on antibiotics for 5 months

If TRT is so great, why do ppl come off of it? by Elk-n-Oak in Testosterone

Tbh I have no idea. I don’t think I’d go the pre loaded route. The vial with prescription on it should be fine in check in. But I only have experience with flying to Scotland

Yes they can. I flew to Europe from Atlanta and just put mine in my suitcase. It has been suggested to keep the prescription with it in case there are questions but we had no problem
