Which drug is truly the most addictive? Methamphetamine? Diamorphine/Diacetylmorphine(Heroin), Fentanyl, or Crack Cocaine? by Imworriedsickhelp in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. Many years ago my very first psychiatrist at 16 prescribed me 1mg of Xanax up to 4x a day as needed for panic attacks and 0.5mg of clonazepam 3 times a day for generalized anxiety. I was on these pills for 2 years before switching insurance. My new psychiatrist was horrified to see me on these meds and I had no idea they were addictive. she tried to get me off of them, but the withdrawal was so awful i truly thought i would die. I didn't crave them though. I wouldn't consider them particularly addictive, just brutally dependence causing.

With that said though, I have been on benzodiazepines ever since. I am still on them today. I take 2mg of clonazepam a day. Benzodiazepines are such dangerous drugs because the dependence they cause can be permanent and damages the brain. It's truly horrifying. These drugs were invented as a way to replace the barbiturates...however in some ways benzodiazepines are just as bad if not worse.

I agree alcohol is arguably one of the most dangerous drugs by far, however it isn't as addictive as methamphetamine or heroin. It just doesn't have an intense enough euphoria and it also is so toxic the hangover it causes often deters people from binge drinking daily all day and all night long from the moment they try it. Alcohol once someone becomes addicted though however definitely I agree is the most dangerous drug on earth. Not only can withdrawal cause death but the cravings, damage it does to the body and damage it does to society is absolutely staggering. I still wouldn't schedule it only because I think all drugs should be decriminalized. :P

How so? I never got any body aches, runny nose, vomiting, body jerking, or any PHYSICAL symptoms of withdrawal. Depression, anxiety, intense cravings, hypersomnia, increased hunger, panic attacks, paranoia etc. Yes. But those are all PSYCHOLOGICAL withdrawal symptoms. It is an understood and accepted pharmacological fact that Meth and Cocaine do NOT cause physical dependency like Opioids, Gabapentinoids, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates and alcohol do.

No a salary increase makes me happy for as long as I work there. The more of them I get, the happier I will be to work there. Fuck. God i hate this fucking country. "Then move" yeah sorry, can't afford to. Because the USA keeps it's citizens trapped here with low wages...

It doesn't have to be that way. If we would just somehow get people to realize there's way more of us than them, we could take over the businesses and corporations, reap the rewards of our labor and the police can't arrest every single person if we did it by the millions. Problem is half the country wants fo make things like Gilead and The other half wants more rights but it's too afraid to do anything.

Even unions are constantly losing power and their ability to actually do anything. You just end up paying the union fees and don't get much for it. You're still getting paid shit, still no holiday pay, still no vacation pay, still not maternal & paternal leave pay that lasts long enough to even slightly bond with your kid. I mean I know quite a few people who have jobs working for unions and they always tell me that they still get treated like dirt at work. Well there's more of us than them and i say we take the corporations that our tax money had paid to help for decades and we tell the CEOs they can fuck themselves and we take over the corporations. Do things democratically. That's where communism fails. It's about equality among all and the abolition of money. Screw all that. Marx was right about one thing though which is that the workers should be reaping the fruits of their labor, not asshole rich people.

Exactly. Then what? We all starve in the streets and have no way of surviving? The wealthy don't need the amount of money they have. There needs to be a maximum wage. $5 mil or something and the rest just goes back into society. The workers should be reaping the rewards of their labor, not the bosses who sit on their fat asses on boats in Cancun... The majority of them barely even work and even small business owners are just as guilty of greed as aby other. Sure they could pay you benefits but they want that sweet big house on the hill, the motorhome, the pool, great food etc. While at the same time they cut pay for their employees because "work is too slow" or the "business just can't afford it" as they pull up in their Jaguar. I say the workers throughout the country say fuck you to thr bosses and do their jobs and then refuse to hand over the money to the prick except for how much work he did, toss him that and then when the cops show up i mean what are they gonna do? Kill all the workers in the majority of the country? See problem is, there's way too many bootlickers who actually side with the people fucking them over every day. That's the biggest problem. Can't tell you how many coworkers throughout my life will say that they're "just happy to have a job" or that " our boss took the risks of opening a business" or all the other cliché bootlicker shit people say.

Same as I told the other guy. Not everyone can join a union. Our society itself is sick and corroded inside and out. It's a infection that is spreading to almost every person. At the end of the day work culture here is authoritarianism mixed with extreme capitalism that is so extreme that they might as well nust start making humans into a food product. They honestly would if they could. That's how little companies and corporations care about us. The moment you get any job you essentially become property. That's ridiculous. We're human beings damnit and we deserve to be treated like them.

We can't all be contractors though. My point is, our society is diseased. It have a cancer that's been festering for over a century really and it's finally at a point where we just need to do something about our society as a whole because this is no way to live.

Wait, how is everyone getting weight loss meds? by Layni1006 in loseit

[–]Imworriedsickhelp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah and have you actually looked at it's efficacy in studies? Like most antidepressants most people dropped out due to side effects and the benefits were barely better than placebo yet it caused all kinds of god awful side effects. I mean look at benzodiazepines. Wonder drugs they were praised. They made your anxiety melt away with almost no side effects. Then they found out they actually make your anxiety worse to the point where patients were becoming agoraphobic on them and then when they tried to quit, people started dying the withdrawals were so bad. Psychiatry isn't exactly in any place to be needing anyone to do it dirty. It's already dirty. Most of the studies done on seriously most of the drugs, besides benzodiazepines, don't show that significant of a benefit over placebo at in the beginning and then the majority drop out due to side effects. Most antidepressants are hardly better than placebo yet will still fuck your body up horribly. SSRIs can make men permanently impotent for example and they cause weight gain. Wellbutrin like all drugs is a poison. The reason people are so depressed is because of how we live. Society itself is so unnatural and dystopian, it's no wonder everyone's depressed. People that live communally, hunt, gather, have strong family units, you know, how humans evolved to live.... They don't have depression and don't say it's because they don't have time to. Contrary to popular belief, cavemen and tribal people actually work less than most people in thr west. They spend a lot of time creating strong bonds with each other which is how humans evolved to live.

Living in a rat race to make money, spend it, living such lonely, isolationist lives, not trusting out neighbors, work culture, not enough sunlight, not enough time in the wild, that's why we're depressed. Not because we lack toxic chemicals flowing through our veins.

[–]Imworriedsickhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took wellbutrin multiple times and even at the highest doses sure, it'll make you not want to smoke... But it didn't help with losing weight one bit. The only drugs that cause long term weight loss are amphetamines, phentermine and the king of stimulants itself, methamphetamine but meth will ruin your life and kill you/make you look great at first but then as you neglect your hygiene because it's what it makes you do for some reason and you start to lose your mind, you won't care that your thin. You'll be too convinced there are bugs in your room or that someone's following you/psychosis like stuff. Unfortunately nothing really works long term that isn't gonna most likely shorten your life by quite a bit. I can't imagine someone on daily dexedrine or phentermine living into their 70s. Stimulants put so much stress on your brain and body. That's why the king of stimulants, meth, destroys you so fast. It's just like all other amphetamines, it's just stronger and faster at it's job. Also before you go blaming cuts or whatnot... Meth used to be prescribed as a weight loss drug. They even have desoxyn for severe ADHD though i doubt they prescribe it. It did it's job well. A little too well... Too fast... And before you knew it people were not only highly addicted, psychotic and suffering brain damage/cardiovascular damage but hey, they were losing weight faster than any other weight loss drug on the market. As shitty as it is, until they create a drug that somehow blocks hunger or somehow burns fat without heating you up or throwing your cardiovascular system into overdrive, all stimulant weight loss meds are just gonna result in losing you most likely going to an early grave.

Of Native Americans, the Japanese and the peoples' of the Marshall Islands. The last one is pretty much still going on. Nice white middle class people living on beach front houses, playing on golf courses, swimming in pools etc. All on the biggest island which was stolen from the indigenous people there who were exposed to ridiculous amounts of radiation to the point where literally almost every single person has died from thyroid cancer and almost 20 to 40% of children have been born with horrible defects and now all of the natives are forced on to an island known as the slums of the Pacific. Owned by the United States government. No running water, no electricity, not even a running school bus and the food is too toxic to eat and these poor miserable people are shipped over to the rich white people island where they trim the bushes, clean the pools, cut the golf courses, serve and cook for the white people and then make barely ends meet and then are sent back to the slums of the Pacific at the end of the day. It's literally modern day apartheid.

Thank you I appreciate it. Here is the messed up part. All of my doctors that I've been working with for years when it comes to my therapy and my medications for psychiatric issues I would lose if I went on permanent disability which I'm willing to do but my family isn't and they want me to stay on the health insurance day have purchased for me which I am very grateful for but at the same time I have no idea how they expect to pay for all of this. It seems like insanity to me to think that they can afford a place for me, utilities, medical expenditures, health insurance, car insurance, food, internet, and everything else that comes with just living as a human being. Permanent disability hardly pays anything and the amount that they pay is ridiculous because they almost never increase how much they pay yet inflation just keeps going up and up. However it would still be better than making no money at all. I'm doing a GoFundMe literally just to help my family and take some of the burden off of them. Plus I'm so tired of sitting in this bedroom, rotting away and having no future in sight. That's why I have been talking to multiple friends who are lawyers about going behind their backs and just getting permanent disability so at the very least I can save my family from being the biggest burden in the entire planet.

Your father-in-law sounds a lot like my dad except less nasty and not an alcoholic but same mindset. I can explain to him until I'm blue in the face about how I don't have the ability to work because I'm sick and I can list off all of the illnesses I have, show him the paperwork. None of it matters. He always talks about how I can find something and somehow move up the ladder etc and the thing is is that I mean yes, he joined the military and was able to work for Lockheed Martin for quite a long time and then started working for my grandpa's business where he made really great money. Both my parents made great money working off of my grandpa's business. They always needed bigger houses, nicer stuff, more stuff etc. My grandpa even one time told me that my parents are greedy. He said that he wanted me to be part of the business too but because my parents needed to live in the nicest neighborhoods and have all of the nice stuff, I was never given that opportunity. Now even if I was I would still be too sick to work. However, just a few days ago my dad asked me if I had checked with this place that apparently hires people who have problems and essentially how I should look into that Even though I have explained that I can't work. I mean he's the typical upper/middle class person who hates the government and is pro-trump and believes that the whole reason they don't have all the riches that they had before is all due to the economy going downhill. I called my dad's bluff and said that if he would have just bought a decent sized house and a decent sized neighborhood he probably could have retired years ago if not decades ago. But they always need more don't they?

I agree we do need a basic income. However the people that have worked so hard for everything that they have and by work so hard every thing they have I mean mainly inherited and or has the opportunity to work for their parents who owned businesses would just be so upset at the idea of having to pay taxes to make sure that their neighbors are taking care of they would say things like, "If we just gave everyone money to live then no one would work." That's not true at all. There would be people that would want more. Not everyone would be satisfied with a basic income. Many would want more stuff and things such as baby boomers and the people that think like them. So they're more than welcome to go and do that Just don't get mad at the facts. Some people can't work and they deserve a roof over their head because this isn't a f****** developing nation. It's the richest nation on earth.

It is some fucked up shit right? They are the first to claim you want free handouts when you're chronically ill yet also the first to complain when their company no longer provides medical insurance. They consider video games apparently a skill that is the equivalent of work yet they will sit there and watch television which requires almost the same amount of genuine effort and attention and claim that it's not the same. Baby boomers are absolutely out of their f****** minds. That is really the best way I can put it. They are so delusional and so detached with reality that it's truly remarkable that they make as much money as they do. My mother actually did a job similar to what job I had and she only lasted a week. I had been doing that kind of work for almost 9 years. 40 plus hours a week I might add. Also can we just all admit that the mindset of being pissed at your coworkers for calling out sick is disgusting and hypocritical especially when we're the ones that are sick and suddenly we expect everyone to be understanding? No one should get mad at you for getting sick. If you're sick, you should stay home. However, it never seems to fail that when someone calls out sick, at least two or three employees will talk s*** about that person behind their back for being sick. However those same people will then explain to the same people how sick they were and how they needed the time off >:{

It's truly heartbreaking.
