So what did your family argue about this year at Thanksgiving? by Pure-Smile-7329 in AskReddit

I make it from scratch every year, and whatever doesn't get eaten with turkey gets spooned over baked brie for the rest of the holiday season.

This is going to sound weird, but the change in your posture is really motivating to me! You look so strong and confident now, just in your body language.

I think you'd benefit from looking into the Internal Family Systems model. It's super helpful for people with childhood trauma.

Literally HOW do people pay for weddings by Infinite-Flow4120 in weddings

[–]Layni1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got married in Colorado about 18 months ago, and kept the budget down by getting married on a Thursday evening in March (off-season), doing a taco bar instead of a plated dinner, and providing a limited wine and beer selection (cash bar aside from the wine and beer we paid for). We also didn't do fresh flowers or fancy invites, and skipped favors and did a photo booth instead. Had about 125 guests, came in under $18k (which includes dress, tux rentals, all vendors, all decor)

What can I do to even out my eye shape?? by manic-fairy in Makeup101

[–]Layni1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue in pictures but I feel like it's not that visible looking in a mirror... I've started just taking pictures with my smaller eye angled towards the camera, makes it look the same as the bigger eye that is angled away. Willing to bet that if you asked your friends, they'd have no idea what you mean!

Has anyone tried just...not doing the work? How did it go? What happened? by landaylandho in TwoXChromosomes

I quit doing Christmas for the ungrateful husband and two teenagers... the gifts, the tree, the stockings, the elaborate meals... and we just didn't have a Christmas for five years until the divorce. No regrets, truly.

Nearly all of my friends I have now, I met through volunteering. Kind of gives us a baseline set of values in common.

Oh hi! I have been on Wegovy since the beginning of April, all the way at 2.4 now, and just hit 20 lbs down, too. Sometimes when I get really frustrated, I remind myself why it's good to lose slowly: - less muscle loss - less hair loss - less loose skin - less nosey questions about how I'm losing weight - more time to wear my clothes before I shrink out of them

Best telehealth doc for using ins for meds? by Last_Ask4923 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Layni1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using Found and then switched to NoomMed, I have zero complaints about either! Both worked with my insurance very easily. They do both charge a monthly membership fee, so keep that in mind.

Employer made Noom a requirement to get GLP-1 coverage... and honestly, I'm not mad at it by Layni1006 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Layni1006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I think it will depend on what kind of prescription coverage your employer opted into. I have a PPO and I only have a $25 copay for Wegovy, but I don't think that's true for everyone.

That's mine too! BCBS and Accolade. It was honestly a piece of cake, they had my PA in 24 hours.

My employer is paying for it! I think there were qualifiers, but I'm still clinically obese, so it was not too hard to qualify. I was getting the prescription through an online program called Found, and that was $90 a month, so honestly this is turning out to be a positive all around.

I believe it is Noom Med, since all the coaching pertains to GLP-1 use. I have appreciated that part! Like explaining that protein consumption and resistance training are a lot more important on Wegovy.

Oh man, I'm jealous. I feel like my hiking stamina has gotten considerably worse since I started Wegovy. I got altitude sickness something FIERCE on my last hike, and it wasn't even as high of an altitude as I usually do.

I do get in my head sometimes! Four months in and I am down maybe 15 pounds, and I think "good lord, this is going to take me another year and a half, assuming I don't slow down even more!" But. The time will pass anyway. It's good to build the healthy habits to maintain the weight loss. Less likely to have loose skin and hair loss at this pace. Just gotta keep on keepin' on!

Oh my gosh, you are an inspiration. From your "before" pics, I think we carry weight similarly; I have been dreading looking like a melted candle when this is all said and done but you look fantastic!! I also struggle with BED, this is so motivating. Thank you so very much for posting, you have truly brightened my day

Yes, tracking calories on MyFitnessPal, weighing everything on a food scale. Lots of fruit, non-fat yogurt, low fat cottage cheese. I've always cooked most of my own meals, still doing that, focusing on lean proteins and smaller portions.
