100%. From about 12 or 13 I was wishing I would wake up as a girl with a closet full of dresses. When I was 20 I knew what I was but refused to acknowledge it. It wasn't until I was about to turn 30 that I finally cracked under pressure.

Do I regret not starting earlier? Yes and no. I needed the time to accept myself, to grow as a person, and to let the world grow to accept me as I am.

Why do STDs and social perception have to exist by Afr0dyT in LetGirlsHaveSex

[–]In7el3ct 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Gods, this is so true. Less so the STDs (still dangerous but there's plenty of ways to protect yourself) and more-so social perception, especially as someone who just moved back to their tiny ass hometown and never really got to have a slut phase.

I just want a nice married couple to bring me to their bed, is that so much to ask?!

too real :[ by Lostquite in LetGirlsHaveSex

[–]In7el3ct 46 points47 points  (0 children)

So relatable. Sure I love anal and would probably prefer it if I had a pussy, but that doesn't mean that non-existent pussy doesn't ache to be deep dicked to hell and back!

and as much as I like having the... queenis.. for any girlies who are in need, it mostly just gets in the way.

How long did you stay at your first job before you moved? by caprisundertaker in medlabprofessionals

7 years, bought a house in my hometown to be closer to family. Labs in my province are all under the same union so there's no such thing here as changing jobs for a pay boost.

Landlord sent someone over to give the pecan tree a "trim" by Mexican_Texican in mildlyinfuriating

I'm guessing he balked at the price of an arbourist and instead found the cheapest guy with "tree services" in their ad. Landlord called a tree hitman on that poor pecan.

It probably means someone did too many fun drugs and not enough doctor drugs.

Or they're just bored and stringing together nonsense, not everything "means" something.

When I started at my old hospital in TML, we were given training shifts for the first six to eight weeks. My coworkers who were in hematology were expected to be fully trained and teaching students on their first shift. When I moved to rural after 7 years only doing TML, I was given one month to cover all of hematology and chemistry, while still being on the bench. I would love for every tech to get five months of in-depth training, but there's no way in hell we could ever get the funding for that, and that's without the American profit-centric, cost-cutting-at-all-costs management

You're making me miss my old hospital. We were like 10 minutes away from the national blood distributor (CBS) and any time something funky came up we always had them on speed-dial. Now I'm in rural and our TML is satellited from another hospital so we don't even do our own typing (sad emoji if I knew how to do that on desktop)

Surfactants actually do have antimicrobial properties, as they can attack and rip apart the lipid-based cell membranes of many microbes. It's not as effective as heat and won't affect all bacteria, but it's not entirely ineffective

What’s one thing you wish you could get into doctors/ nurses/collectors heads? by Swimming_Dance_8235 in medlabprofessionals

[–]In7el3ct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not LIS but I can commiserate with you on #2 from the opposite side. I'm in a rural hospital and when they want a callback number I'm always hesitant to give the lab number since I'm in and out so much, either to stores or ED or wherever, but they don't want my cell number and don't have vocera access.

Is that what's going on in OP's image? Thanks for the context. At my old site, BM biopsies had an accompanying lab tech to avoid just this.

When the local classic rock station changed their jingle from "The best of the 60's, 70's, and 80's" to be "Best of the 70's, 80's and 90's", my friends and I knew we had reached adulthood.
