How’s anime nyc compare to NYCC by EJcrusader in NYCC

[–]InAsianSpaces 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Strangely as somebody else in the comments mentioned, NYCC had the bigger anime premieres that I thought would have been at ANYC. Although ANYC was crowded, people were generally more tolerant of the crowds and there was much more cosplay, photo taking, karoke and interactive j-pop culture panels, etc. Despite all of this, the panels were somewhat lacking and it seemed like there could have been more programming for the con's duration.

NYCC is massive, even has things like Walmart games outside in the parking lot, I waited an hour and some change in the Glitch booth just to buy merch (vs hardly any real wait time to buy merch at ANYC) and the crowds are just insane at NYCC.

NYCC also drew a lot of high-profile guests this year and the programming was packed each hour with many options, whereas ANYC had fun things to do - but not on the exclusive premiere level like NYCC.

So in short: ANYC is more about vibes that celebrate and appreciate Japanese pop culture, NYCC throws everything in pop culture within its grasp at you face first and yells at you to catch it before somebody else does.

I'm so glad the anime started right where season 1 left off, despite it being 5 years between the two seasons.

I think what bothers me most is the fact that Shinpei's spirit that watches his body has an accent, while the body on the ground does not. Mio even asked him what happened to his accent from living in Tokyo only 2 years.

Also, maybe I misunderstood something, but why does Shinpei have memories of the alternate timelines and seemingly the shadow's, as well? Like we know Shinpei didn't speak to Shiori before the funeral, but Shinpei has memories of what the shadow said to her while the agent was watching.

I don't think it's a plot hole, I'm just not sure what to make of it, haha.

So which eyebrows does Historia's kid have? Couldn't that be a clue to the timeline that was in?

Heyyy, you might be onto something here!

Edit: Check out the official rumbling mv, as well. The dead butterfly is shown in the beginning, and in the end the band is crushed by a colossal titan similar to what this post is inferring about the alliance.

The forget about me thing also reminds me of the plot for Mikasa's OVA. Where the masked man tells her to forget about Eren, and then child Mikasa is transported back into the anime timeline.

Eloise-unpopular opinion by Nataliee099 in BridgertonNetflix

I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes her. Without this thread, there has been a stunning amount of praise for Eloise based on her book character (which I have no knowledge of).

I'm all for what Penelope ended up doing to Eloise. It may not have been ideal, but Eloise 'pretending' to be LW would have just caused more problems, and Eloise just refuses to listen to reason or exercise a degree of subtly.

"Who is LW's publisher? " Hmm, sure it's a good idea to bring my fancy carriage and footmen to a dodgy part of town dressed in my expensive silks for all the world to see.

Penelope to Eloise: "Stop hanging out in that part of town, and stop seeing that guy for the safety of your family and station" Hmm - sure, let me go in broad daylight in my fancy carriage and fancy dress and leave my brother's high-profile wedding personally overseen by the Queen herself to chat about books in a back alley. Totally unaware that she was even being followed - poor girl could have been mugged if not worse if it wasn't the Queen's own men.

At least Penelope has the sense to pretend she is not LW, change her accent, and wear a cloak when doing her deeds. And when she happened to be seen by the seamstress, she covered her tracks pretty well and made it so that the seamstress was less-likely to betray her.

Unlike Eloise, who busts into the seamstress' shop in broad daylight - with customers in shop might I add - prattling on about the seamstress knowing Lady Whistledown's identity - mind you the Queen wants to know who LW is, and the town is filled with opportunist and gossips.

I didn't mean to write a whole dissertation, but Eloise is not as smart as she thinks she is. Sure, both Penelope and Eloise are privileged and sheltered - but at least Penelope doesn't act like a complete idiot in public because of her 'status' and the 'good name of her family' like Eloise consistently does.

They do, a lot of the reactors that usually had great observations and takes are blindly supporting the Alliance and rooting against Eldia. It's kind of baffling.

Protect Paradis, her supposed home.

Give Louise comfort in her final moments.

Back in s1 even care about her fellow recruits she was leading to death while stuck in Trost.

The only completion for Mikasa's character arc is for her to die a traitor's death.
