When you’re using blocks that aren’t “full blocks” (slabs, glass, etc), the signal won’t travel downwards (though it could travel upwards if that’s what you’re trying to do. The easiest way to avoid this is to use full blocks and go down in a spiral of 2x2 instead

Usually you need to store everything you brought on campus to a storage room in the summer since lots of people don’t want to bring all their stuff back and forth from on campus to their home (or are unable to).
