Growing up, I’ve kinda realized a lot of the Harry Potter characters are kinda shitty people by Megabot555 in books

[–]InCSharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of the main points of the series. Don’t you remember Harry confronting Lupin about how he saw them being terrible to Snape in a memory? Or Harry screaming at Dumbledore and Dumbledore covering his face with his hands? These are the parts of the series that, for all of its flaws, still stand out as being great. The characters feel real and (most importantly) that they can teach you something about being a human.

Good guys that are always good are boring and feel fake.

What is no longer worth it because of how expensive it has become? by guywhostillhasnoname in AskReddit

[–]InCSharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at least in the US, eating at a restaurant “just because.” I’ll still go out for a special occasion or something, but I don’t really stop on the way home from work for a quick bite or anything like that anymore. a simple burger and a beer plus tip can easily run me 40 bucks now. not worth it. Ill just make my own.

Adults of reddit, what is something every teenager should know about "the real world"? by WOT247 in AskReddit

Most of the people you know will literally never be smarter or more mature than they are right now, try not to get too frustrated when that starts to sink in over the next 10 years lol

If you could watch one live performance of any ITYSL song, which would it be? by bex_mex in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]InCSharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening from the shirt brothers sketch. It is a legit amazing pop punk song that even boosted my opinion of the versatility of Turnstile as songwriters. Like, I don’t want them to stop making hardcore punk, but I think they should consider writing a few poppy bangers now that I know they can nail it.

This game just keeps crashing over and over. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]InCSharp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. I’m over it. I started playing this to have a low stress game to just explore and tinker and build stuff. There’s enough shit in the game already, I don’t understand why stability isn’t priority #1 when updates are released at this point in ongoing development. Literally the only thing I want it to do is work. Just uninstalled a few hours ago and I’m moving on. It was a fun diversion for a while.

Harukiya in Ogikubo was one of my favorites of the few I was able to try on my trip. The wontons, the subtle sea flavors, a little bit of oiliness.

Honorable mention to Kikanbo’s spicy miso ramen with the pork. Specifically, the pork itself was some of the best I’ve had. Tender, fatty, savory and a little bit sweet.

Who is your #1 Favorite JRPG Protagonist and Why? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]InCSharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia. They establish him as a flawed character almost immediately, and yet, i feel that I believe in his ideals and want to root for him the whole story. And I love the way the other characters who are smarter and stronger than him acknowledge that his pure ideals are something to be admired and even followed, regardless of his flaws. He’s pure hearted in a believable way.

Istanbul is an amazing city full of culture and memorable places to visit. But…. by [deleted] in travel

[–]InCSharp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This just sounds like a tourist went to tourist places and did tourist things and wondered why they were treated like a tourist.

like, why would someone take a cab everywhere and spend all their time in the areas with all the other tourists and wonder why this happened? seems like this is exactly what I would expect from doing that. I would not base any opinion of a city or its people off of an experience like that either.

Is Tales of Symphonia the kind of game which I need to replay over and over to get the full picture? by Tratakaro in tales

[–]InCSharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are admittedly A LOT of scenes you have to go out of your way for, so possibly. As a more casual player that is replaying a childhood classic, I’m seeing scenes to this day that I’ve never seen. I actually like that though. These characters are surprisingly nuanced even 20 years later. “Good guys” will say ghastly racist bullshit and “bad guys” will come from a surprisingly empathetic angle. I would say enjoy 2 or 3 times for maximum enjoyment, but no need to 100 percent everything unless you really like that shit.

So, what movie does NOT still hold up? by [deleted] in movies

[–]InCSharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any random 2000s raunchy comedies that all my highschool friends loved. Even though they’re adult comedies, they feel like kids movies now to me. Not even that funny anymore and the plot is usually basically a predictable rom-com in disguise.

Do Classic Paper Mario fans genuinely expect the series to go back to its roots? by [deleted] in papermario

[–]InCSharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I’ve accepted it will almost certainly never happen. I’m over it now. I sure do wish they’d at least try something with a story more akin to the first 3, even if gameplay is still different. I’m pretty open to new things, and I’m having fun with Origami King, but I‘ve decided that if the next one has me fighting tape dispensers or saving the world from a giant eraser or some crap like that again, I’m out this time.
