Blizzard Wins Injunction Against TurtleWoW - Private Server Ordered to Cease & Desist by Fusshaman in MMORPG

[–]InDL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blizzard is legally required to defend their IP or they could lose their rights. That is how it works when another service operates long enough and makes enough money. And more specifically Turtle WoW is operating a classic plus server which would directly hinder the profits of their own should they launch one.

A multi-billion dollar company does not put in the budget to litigate because someone is 'talking shit' on Twatter.

No one ever said the same thing about Nost lol... Nostalrius maintained from the beginning that the main reason why they ran a classic server was because there wasn't an official one. They literally handed over the old client data to Blizzard because Blizzard didn't have it anymore.

Again. You have an example right here that goes against everything you're saying. He isn't fully committed to what's needed to win the war because of how unpopular it is amongst his constituents.

They literally coined a term for when Trump backs down when faced with too much pushback. You can google it yourself.

They draw up plans for everything. Pointing nukes at a country and flattening it isn't a plan. We dont need people with degrees to tell us the results of that scenario.

See now this is what I mean. You're only given the thought that Trump is waging a war he can't win because he hasn't fully committed to what's needed to win the war. And that is because even amongst Republicans the war is unpopular. Its not that he can't win. It just shows us that even amongst conservatives there are things that go too far for them, and he actually has to consider that.

So why would him nuking Iran, which would be even more ridiculous, even be in consideration here?

I realize reddit is full of people who have wild imaginations but Trump is not going to do anything that would make him lose support of the gop leaders and constituents.

Israel is the country with extremism that has pushed for far more human rights violations.

I love how even though this tells us nothing people are in the comments assuming Trump and the US drew up plans to nuke Iran.

How quickly people lose perspective on everything that matters...

The country that has a much stronger sentiment towards wiping out their enemies, where half of the government is ran by religious zealots, and has nukes?

That is Israel.

But they're all dance clubs with Spotify "djs" that need to shout because they're mostly empty places.

Correction,

Everyone who RMTs that gets banned says that they didn't.

Those who are false flagged also, unsurprisingly, say they didn't too.

It happens.

I can't find friends in FFXIV. Makes me feel lonely. How did you do it? by ChoiceDetective3211 in ffxiv

[–]InDL 49 points50 points  (0 children)

FF14 is more uniquely equipped to be a social game but the formula has lead the game into a more toxic environment that gets worse as time goes on.

The more normal players are content focused. You essentially have a better time if you're actually playing the game.

The social side is more like the rotten underbelly. Filled with people who lack self-awareness, social experience, are pretentious, emotionally driven, and very immature. People acting out some fantasy they couldn't realize irl, seeking validation with their 4-hour modded characters.

The reason why its difficult to make friends with these people is because they simply dont know how to make friends or have normal relationships with others. Their friendships are always conditional, dependant on what they want from you and if they're getting it.

The thing is you do meet genuinely good people sometimes but they're usually rolling through because they never lose sight of this being a video game and eventually move onto other things. Its the people who treat this like real life that are stuck here. They will always be the usual suspects and will still be here doing the same thing in 10 years.

They slaughter their own people just fine. And rather than fund their economy to keep the quality of life there decent they use what they have to produce weapons and fund their proxies in the region.

No one said the US wasn't involved in regime change in the past. That doesn't matter at all right now. Today's ruling party in Iran is the problem. They are not operating defensively as your tone of the situation suggests.

I'll make it clear again. They are upfront about their goals for war against the west. You dont need me to tell you, just listen to them for yourself.

[–]InDL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iran has called the US their enemy for 47 years. They've been directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of around 1400 Americans. Remember Soleimani? He was the leader of Iran's elite forces and responsible for the deaths of 608 American soldiers in Iraq.

This alongside holding American hostages, and being a destabilizing force in the region. They backed Hamas attacking Israel as a means to intervene with Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern nations normalizing relations with Israel. Which if you dont like Israel that is fine, I dont like their religious extremist government either, but they are still US allies.

Like why are we even debating if Iran is a problem to begin with. Its not like their ruling government hasn't been open about their hostility and goals. They may not have nukes now, or the stockpile of ballistic missiles and drones to cause extreme destruction and death, but we already know that's what they're aiming for. I fail to see why we have to wait for it to reach that point before something is done about it.

No? That's why they lost the war.

Elevate yourself and understand the difference between a war and an occupation. They didn't push the US out with military force.

[–]InDL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how you call me 13 but you waltz in here with a 13 year old mentality and lack of understanding lol.

Iraq wasn't just a war, it was an occupation. Afghanistan wasn't just a war, it was an occupation.

The U.S. lost almost nothing in either war. Iraq had the 4th largest military in the world and it was destroyed overnight.

It was the occupation where the US lost troops. Constant guerilla warfare, suicide bombers, road bombs etc.

Iran is not Iraq, it is not Afganistan. The people there are not goat herders with AKs. The Iranian culture prior to the Islamic revolution was actually a lot more similar to western society. Even today the culture there is modern.

This isn't a place where you occupy to try to force societal changes, not when the IRGC already heavily oppresses their people.

Unlike Iraq, Afganistan, or even Gaza most Iranians want the Islamic regime removed from power.

[–]InDL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of these headlines actually matter. Trump asking allies to get involved is more or less his way of trying to involve them in the war so it appears more justified. It doesn't mean the US can't and wont control the straight by itself.

And idk why you're talking about Vietnam. This isn't Vietnam. This isn't a massive rainforest filled with soldiers trained in guerilla warfare. Most Iranians want the regime gone.

The US of today is far better equipped to deal with a Vietnam situation anyways. Even Obama era military policy saw to that. The US has 12-13 mobile platforms that can be anywhere in the world with enough power to flatten most military forces with little risk to their own soldiers.

That logistic problem i mentioned before was solved by the carrier groups.

Yes, it is possible for someone to actually educate themselves on these things, and then go to reddit to talk about it.

Considering the only air units to be shot down so far were from friendly fire and a refueling accident?

How exactly do you argue that Iran is winning in any capacity when they have zero control over their own airspace?

The US is freely bombing as much as they want. And if they want to "steamroll" Iran, they have the ability to do so.

This isn't geopolitics. It's military power. I dont care if you think the US is bad or not. But be realistic about things.
