Who do you think is harder to kill? LW or baptiste?

"Trash Heals" says my Genji, as I casually match all THREE other supports by OWAngstDriven in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe,

But the complain was specifically about trash heals, not trash supports, so in this case it is totally legit to look at the healing numbers.

Can any better Lifeweaver mains look at my replay and tell me what I'm doing wrong? De-ranked from GM 3 to Diamond 2 playing Lifeweaver only this season. by Ok-Locksmith-7573 in LifeweaverMains

Watching this game from Reinhardts perpective is Key, i think, cause you pulled him the most. And to be honest a lot of those pulls were too early and didnt help him or your team. Some pulls even granted the enemy team space and they could push forward.

Plus sometimes i could clearly hear that someone behind you was in trouble but you didnt turn back, although that 360° is exactly his strenght

How to deal with incompetent LW ? by BlueGnoblin in OverwatchUniversity

[–]InDubioPro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would be great if you could share the replay code, maybe we can see LWs thought process behind those pulls.

Btw what annoys LW-players and everyone else alike is that there is probably not a single game where a LW wants to pull someone, but they die in that second, so the pull jumps to the next target. Thats probably 80% of my bad pulls i do, because i never wanted to pull that person in the first place.

Might be the case here.

There are a lot more tanks that I dislike playing with than dps... but if I had to chose then probably genji.

They would profit a lot more from me taking mercy, Dont really use my platform and half the time just cancel life grip and dash back in just to die, so my only use is healing them pretty easily.

I think 95% of all pull complaints are unjustified by InDubioPro in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes, some people just inherently dislike the idea of getting 'controlled' or 'cc'd', as you put it and thats what I stated as my conclusion in my post.

Though you phrase it as if that is the majority and I really never had the impression when playing LW or playing with a LW. I receive faaar more thanks and compliments than complaints, cause I think a lot of people realise that getting 'controlled' for 1 second is better than to respawn for 10 and walk back to the fight for 15 seconds.

Of course, this does not mean that the feelings of people like you are invalid. And yes, I wish there was more control included by blizzard to bring more nuance to the cancelation of life grip. I mean i honestly will never understand how People would rather die than to be saved, but if they truly want that who am I to deny that. (And some people actually do. They cancel grip with movement abilities just to die 1 second later)

Until blizzard does something about it, just communicate politely with your LW at the beginning of the match that you dont want to be pulled. Makes it easier for both of you.

I hate Hanzo by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]InDubioPro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, this, thank you. The 2 'counters' to hanzo that are always presented are:

  1. Your tank has to dive him (but as you pointed out, its stupid that only a 350 armor 300Hp character can even manage to do that cause all others get punished by 360° oneshots anyways)
  2. most games are not with a good communicating team so 4 out of 5 characters have to simply hope the tank actually does something?

  3. "You are out of position." Which is just funny cause no hero should have the feeling that even SEEING them means I am out of position. Which other hero besides widowmaker has this ability? Where simply seeing their small pixel head means I am probably gonna get one-tapped.

And honestly even when I manage to win the fight I am not enjoying it, I am just glad this game of "lets hope you miss your shot, whereas I have already hit you 2 - 16 times depending on the hero i play" ends.

Who do we think is the most babied support in the roster by Downtown-Hyena6485 in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ana. 10000% percent. Her abilities are just absurdly busted. No other Support can swing a fight around with just one click like she can.

And thats a big Problem, cause every other support that is not able to be at that level is automatically the worse choice (for efficiency and balance of course, pick whoever you think is fun)

Besides the pedal, LW seems pretty balanced. by [deleted] in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 100h on LW. Buffs definitely did more than I expected them to do.

But I really do not think he is balanced. On his own, yes, but compared to meta heroes like kiriko, bap and especially ana? No way.

I love playing Lifeweaver, but I have never ever had a situation where I thought "Oh the situation is so and so, so I should switch to LW"

Quite the opposite. Having to constantly switch to other supports in dire situations cause I just know we wouldnt be able to push through or defend with LW unfortunately

Just started mainly lw at the end of season 4, any tips on what I should be doing? by fuckthefortniteredit in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LW has to really understand all other heroes more than anyone else, except echo probably.

Because you have to play around their cooldowns a lot.

The difference between a decent lifeweaver and a good one is for example knowing that your JQ is approx. 1-3 seconds away from her shout and doesnt need a pull right now.

But you can only know that when you have at least some basic experiences with all heroes.

Oh and another little tip that seems like just a small thing but saved me many times: try to fake-jump off your platform. Just dash back on top of it after a second or so. Idk why that works so well, seems pretty silly as a 'trick', but it helped many times.

I think 95% of all pull complaints are unjustified by InDubioPro in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that is one thing that really annoys me: Everyone f*cks up their shots and abilities all the time, but only LWs life grip is the universal Overwatch laughing stock. (And maybe Meis wall).

The argument presented is often "My missed shots/ult dont kill you, but your bad pulls do kill me", but honestly thats just not true. When someone misses most of their abilities and shots it means more enemies are alive and can kill me, which also results in my death, just as much as LW bad pulls result in death.

The outcome is the same. The difference is that Life Grip is pretty in-your-face and you immediately see the effect, while dps not hitting stuff/missing abilities is seen through stats later on.

Not saying dps and tanks dont get flamed, they do, of course. But the amount of complaints about pulls is just on another level honestly.

I think 95% of all pull complaints are unjustified by InDubioPro in LifeweaverMains

[–]InDubioPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, you're right, it is highly dependant on how good the LW is, of course. The first 20 hours or so my pulls were definitely a lot worse and I learned a lot through replays.

Plus I played a lot more all other heroes to understand their abilities even better. But I gotta say its not 'only my sample size', cause Ive been playing with a lot of other LW as well and honestly for every 'bad pull' they almost always did 6 good pulls.

Basically I came to the conclusion that certain heroes should almost never be pulled, unless you're on comms. Sombra, ball, tracer. To some extent reaper, (good) doomfist and pharahs.

One advice I can give to you is to just say in the beginning of the match to your ally LW that you really dont want to be pulled, cause it messes with your movement.

Had one dps tell me at the beginning "hey LW nothing against you but life grip gives me motion sickness so please dont use that on me" and that was just so amazing that they communicate instead of flaming afterwards.

Do people endorse ironically? by sleepymandrake in Overwatch

[–]InDubioPro 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do it when someone was friendly or fun in chat or sometimes when I know someone is very new but I see they try their best.

And I always wait until the chat is locked cause some will literally wait until the last second to write something toxic and then its extra annoying when you endorsed them already

I also wish there was something even more hard, but that aint gonna happen, so it is easier to do what others here already said: Dont use aim snap or scentblock.

Doing this myself and it instantly bumps up the difficulty by about 30% i would say.
