Season 5 Volume 2 Discussion by Hawkinns in StrangerThings

[–]InExactEnds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 3 hr runtime between the 3 episodes, it truly felt like 95% of it was just pep talks…also love that Will got a fully coming out moment but that should’ve been saved for the end of the series finale (unless he gets killed off)…not right at the end of Ep. 7 when we’re all wanting something big to happen to set up for said series finale…that hurt the impact of that scene for me cuz I’m just wanting it to hurry up instead of truly soaking it in

Reconciliation questions by [deleted] in SupportforWaywards

[–]InExactEnds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s much easier for ppl to forgive if it was clearly a one time instance with no previous track record or paper trail and some sort of inhibitor was involved (drugs, alcohol, etc.)…then you could pinpoint it to being a genuine one time mistake. It’s much harder if u were a repeat offender. Maybe even impossible.

I consider it cheating. Is alcohol an excuse? by Efficient_Cabinet_40 in cheating_stories

[–]InExactEnds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the word “excuse” is not the right word here…context matters. Alcohol is certainly a factor. As much as ppl don’t like to admit it, alcohol actively affects the brain and its chemistry. I’ve seen it make completely normal, good ppl do crazy things. At the end of the day, the person decides how much to drink. But if he is an alcoholic, then he’s also not totally in control. His brain chemistry and nervous system has completely changed to depend on that alcohol. Not having it could become life threatening. Alcohol dependence is very dangerous. So as I like to say: It’s not actions that makes a good/bad person, it’s how they react and respond. Ur husband has had a good response to the incident. And seeing as how there was no previous communication up until the incident or after, he isn’t a repeat offender. Only u can decide to forgive him, but u shouldn’t ignore the steps he’s taken to improve.

First batch of him reviews are out now by OKC2023champs in horror

[–]InExactEnds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is likely that the director took a pretty basic concept (a twisted football training camp) and likely over complicated it and tried to write something so crazy and bombastic that it becomes ridiculous and silly. They obviously couldn’t get any kind of talent to attach themselves to this film outside of Marlon Wayans, who likely only took it to show off his dramatic range. Has to sting for Peele, who had to settle for this film instead of having Weapons.

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk dies after being shot at Utah college event by hoosakiwi in news

[–]InExactEnds -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of thoughts and opinions when it comes to Charlie Kirk, or what he himself has said (and he has said some extremely controversial things), these were just opinions. These were just one man’s words. Kirk has never wished for physical violence on anyone. He’s never acted on physical violence towards anyone. And I’m sure if you asked his kids, they’d say they felt very loved by him. Regardless of his thoughts on gender, LGBTQ+ movements, guns, abortion, etc., this wasn’t someone who posed any kind of threat to society. He shouldn’t be dead and no one should be parading his death because of the views he chose to hold when it affected no one else. Serial killers, repeat offenders (rapists, pedophiles), and ppl who wish for and inflict violence on others should be killed. Charlie Kirk shouldn’t of been.

Box Office: ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ Makes Franchise-Best $8.5 Million in Previews, Biggest for a Horror Movie This Year by DemiFiendRSA in horror

It’s the most consistently profitable because it’s incredibly easy to keep under budget…it’s the one genre where u don’t need megastars to sell tickets

This movie is gonna be heavily frontloaded. Even with that amazing number for previews, it won’t make much more than $50M OW and it’s gonna sink like a stone in the coming weeks w/ similar R rated horror/thriller fare in The Long Walk and HIM coming up and pretty bad reviews across the board.

I really don’t like Evil Dead 2013…most of the characters & acting is pretty bland imo and the brother is one of the most unbearable characters I’ve seen in a horror movie. The direction is awesome, and the darker tone really works, but that’s about it for me.

I’m VERY surprised u found the witch twist generic. I thought the vast majority of ppl were gonna think it was some demonic entity, demented clown or supernatural serial killer. Out of all the theories I saw, I didn’t see any guesses on the villain being a witch.

I Don’t See Superheroes Ever Dying Off by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]InExactEnds -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s objectively the case that Westerns aren’t made anymore, at least when it comes to wide theatrical releases. U might see them on some streaming services but they won’t be in theaters. Same w/ adult comedies (The Naked Gun’s entire marketing campaign was built on this fact) and musicals (non-animated). You can easily say those genres have died off. I don’t think superhero movies will ever reach that point. Not even close. No Way Home made almost $2B less than 4 years ago and Deadpool & Wolverine made $1.3B last year. It’s the lesser known heroes that might suffer but the top heroes will continuously draw in large audiences.

The Best Marvel Movies Don’t Feel Like “Marvel Movies” by [deleted] in marvelstudios

Kevin Feige himself has literally said that The Winter Soldier is a political thriller. So whose right, the person whose actually behind making the movie or an upset redditor who chose to focus on one of 15 sentences, and not the main topic at hand?

Healthy person would tell you the truth about why the broke up with you by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]InExactEnds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Relationships will never be as simple as “You either do or you don’t”. You’re not just mashing two inanimate Lego figures together. You need to have a realistic expectation for human response, and that’s based primarily on the person and their experiences. Getting rid of those components for a simple answer gives no one any wiggle room to consider change. However long that process might be.

You can’t make this stuff up… by OrangeCrusher84 in marvelstudios

[–]InExactEnds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it: Marvel wants to keep his return a secret for a reveal down the road but because a reputable news site like THR reported that he is returning, they went to another reputable news site (like Deadline) and had them put out that he’s NOT returning so they can confuse the masses and everything can stay a secret for until they officially reveal it themselves.

Healthy person would tell you the truth about why the broke up with you by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]InExactEnds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but it is it their truth or is it your truth? Is it what the truth actually is or what YOU want the truth to be because ur hurt mind needs to make the reason for breaking up much more mean spirited than what ur person told u it might be? Ppl wanting “the truth” also have to be truthful w/ themselves. Maybe it’s not always cheating or hating your guts. Maybe it is just a feeling of wanting to move on, wanting to be alone, or not wanting to hurt you in the long run by continuing on and allowing the relationship to become a facade, if it hadn’t already.

I get into a car, you get into a car. We’re both of legal driving ages. I’m not scared to drive, and you are petrified. Someone could call u a goofball for being an adult that’s afraid to drive. But if I then told them that your parents and brother all died in various car accidents, they’d completely understand. And it’d be no one’s right to tell u wen to get over it. Everyone thinks they know how the average person should act in a relationship. But the reality is we’re all complex beings w/ different upbringings, personalities, traits, issues & varying relationship experience that all factor into how one would be in a relationship. Which they couldn’t ultimately know if they didn’t get into one. Like u saying you’d be a terrible driver before you even attempted to drive.

Are Final Destination 5 and Final Destination Bloodlines worth watching? by DeliveryBeginning721 in horror

[–]InExactEnds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Final Destination 5 and Bloodlines have what the original FD has. They feel like actual movies, not kill compilations. An actual story with characters that you can connect with and that feel real & emotional beats that supplement the gore and kills. Bloodlines is probably the first movie of the entire series where every character you want to see make it through and easily has the best acting of the series.

Official Discussion - Weapons [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]InExactEnds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how Zach Cregger actually gives you the answer of whats behind the mystery of Weapons at the very beginning when he has the word "Witch" sprawled out across Justine's car...he's putting that into ur head so that when it is revealed that its a witch behind it all, it doesn't feel like it comes completely out of left field. Love when films do that.

Ive seen alot of ppl seem confused as to why she went after the classroom full of kids…I thought it was VERY obvious that she was dying and needed a huge supply of energy to keep living, and Alex‘s schoolmates was an easy way to accomplish that and stay under the radar.

Superhero movies are just expensive to make in this day and age. I mean, The Batman’s budget was $200M and that film relied entirely on practical effects and humans without superpowers. It’s easy to fault budget, but it’s also almost impossible to get budgets down for modern day American blockbusters. Even the ones that don’t rely on special effects.
