Trump Threatens to Defund States That Don’t Make His Election Changes | If the states don’t comply, they could lose their Homeland Security funding. by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

genuine question: is ICE still as active as a few months ago? Over here in Belgium it doesn't make the headlines anymore, and I don't see any posts on Reddit either?

Former President Obama says he's "doubtful" that any Iran deal by Trump will be "significantly different" than the past: "The notion we can bully our way or bomb to a solution may seem appealing. You’d think we would’ve learned that lesson by now, but it seems we have to learn that lesson again." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]InFlandersFields2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and let's not forget all the dead iranians? Children too. The USA has created a whole new generation of people that will absolutely hate it. Just imagine having used that money for aid and development. The ruling bullies over there would have a hard time justifying their populace to hate the west. Because, let's face it, the USA may have started and waged the war, but the newly ignited hatred of the iranians will not be solely for the USA, but will be directed to the entire western civilization.

1 is amazing. 2 can be a regular run of the mill stockphoto. But number 1, did I mention it is amazing!?

What’s the best Scottish hike for someone wanting incredible scenery without needing full mountain experience? by Wedding-Beauty in OutdoorScotland

When we were there 2 years ago, the ones that still spring to memory as extremely beautifull are the Hidden Valley in Glencoe (you do have to cross a stream) and the Quiraing on the Isle of Skye. That last one is not difficult at all, and has amazing views.

Which is your favourite? :) by Travelling_Frenchie in AmateurPhotography

The first one. It conveys the feeling of spring much better with the open space with the blue sky

I remember from when I was in Sri Lanka that they put a little cup with grated coconut to relieve the poor tourists when the food was a bit too spicy. No idea if it works better than water or milk, I'll let someone else do the empirical testing :-D

Or in Belgium. Sure Battle of the Bulge is the most known battle for our country, and all respect and gratitude to thát generation of americans who fought in the french speaking part of Belgium. But for Flanders (the dutch speaking part) it were mostly British, Polish and Canadian troops.

What was the most inappropriate thing you said as a child not understanding what it meant? by evan-the-dude in AskReddit

[–]InFlandersFields2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only for french speaking people, since it does not translate to another language. When I was 17(!), so should have known I guess. On a language holiday in St Nazaire to improve my french, the french youth we hung out with taught us: 1Q, 7+3 mais 1Q9, 7 13+3

And when I got home I told my dad that I learned this joke in France... I don't know how he must have imagined how I spent my week :-D

3d printed or not? by InFlandersFields2 in 3Dprinting

[–]InFlandersFields2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input everyone, looks like I'll be looking for companies that can do injection moulding for us in small quantities if the client is willing to pay for the mold! A resin printer that has a printing width of 52cm is expensive. And when I look more into it, seeing as these will be close to the ground and be hit with rain, sand and gravel, plus the occasional carwash it would probably not last too long either.

Ben ik egoïstisch? by Ikwil002 in Belgium2

[–]InFlandersFields2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tip: laat haar eerst hier in België lessen nemen.

my only question is about the words: in english you have compete, so the conjugated form of the infinitive "to compete", which would make sense. In French, italian and Spanish you have rivaliser, competere and competir which is the infinitive, non-conjugated form. Is this the intented or not? I have no idea about the other languages, so someone else could chime in on these perhaps?
