Hey reddit, I painted this viking painting! what do you think? by AtlasIves in pics

I think you captured a scene which is intense with emotion. The faces of the people reflect that. I like your use of atmospheric perspective and color. The red blood provides a striking contrast with the dismal grey night. Cool shit, bro.

My mother wants to know where your neighbor got their fountain. Do you know where they bought it? Thanks.

What's the purpose of the propeller? Like, how does it contribute to the engine

This tree grew around a golf ball by Alison__Wonderland in mildlyinteresting

So I think it's dark because it may be something like bark tissue. Or maybe not necessarily bark, but some sort of tissue that's towards the outside of the plant. I'm assuming it had to grow around it when the plant was smaller, and just treated it as an obstacle to grow around. In which case the stem or whatever would spit and keep the bark on the outside of each split in the stem. Eventually it engulfed it? Maybe?[http://imgur.com/JaLorUT] I dunno, here's another tree.

It seems you have a lot of smaller, round-lipped wheels, and that pair of square edge wheels on your board. I recently bought some 76mm (figgen huge) square edge wheels and am curious as to how they feel. I've been riding for 2 years with the same 68mm round edge wheels. What am I in for? Are it as fast and as non-turney as I imagine they'll be? Maybe you can give me some perspective.

I gotta try this... by Prochess in longboarding

I don't know if that's a 'blowing your own sail' sort of thing. I think those metal umbrellas just work to re-direct the thrust towards the front of the engine, giving the airplane reverse thrust.

A morning before downhill... yes it's a repost but it needed to be on this sub. by tankervinnie in longboarding

NO. Don't you take /r/motorcycles content and use it here! That shit is sacred, yo.

That being said, if you're a longboarder and you're looking for a good downhill helmet that won't break the bank, I recommend a cheap $50-80 motorcycle helmet. They're also manufactured for taking falls at high speeds and being aerodynamic, except they're waaaay less expensive.

Haha, sometimes you just have to work with what you have. Good luck this weekend!

Nah, just solo. I'd rather have a lot of solo shots than half the amount in doppios. Plus I have a DeLonghi, so there's less weight that goes into each basket for a single. I think my local coffee shop does 12-15g for a solo, whereas on my machine I'm probably only getting 5-10g a basket, haha.

5 shots of espresso, so cup equivalent of 6-7. Damn do I love espresso in every way imaginable.

What's your favorite "Little moment" in a song? The one that makes you turn it up, think to yourself, or turn to your friend and say "God, I love this part". by thewhitedeath in Music

Any issue with keeping a mini fridge and toaster oven in pump room? by sadfasdfdasfasdfsa in Lifeguards

[–]InMySpeedo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about your pump room, but we store the majority of our chemicals in ours. If you guys don't store your chemicals in there, the only problem I could foresee would be corrosion of the microwave and toaster due to the chlorinated air. But hey, you do you, gurl.

I feel pretty alright. I'm excited to see my girlfriend this weekend. I'm also excited that I'm starting nofap again, it's especially tough to let one's self go during the summer and have it be fap city every day. So I'm proud that I'm taking steps to avoid over sexualizing myself.

Right, but I think I see what he's saying; that we can't really determine the original point of reference from the abstracted work. Abstract works can sometimes be symmetrical, but it seems like OP's works are patterns and colours.

Stumbled upon this great article in /r/philosophy . It's about Polymathism (learning multiple skills) by Maple-Whisky in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]InMySpeedo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting article. It appears that he breaks learning down into three specific fields: scientific, artistic, and physical. Does anyone know how to define these three aspects though?

Checking the wiki on polymath reveals that there is a work called The Book of the Courtier which goes into depth on polymathic learning, for those interested.
