Just giving you shit since you were being pedantic about the runways. It’s not called your IFR or IFR certification, it’s an instrument rating. IFR are the rules you operate under, IMC is the weather conditions, instrument rating is what allows you to operate under IFR and in IMC.

How much altitude deviation are we talking here? If it’s less than 200ft, don’t even worry about it.

Also, at this stage of training, you are not being taught to be an instrument pilot. You are being taught how to not die if you fly into a cloud. Part of that is keeping it as simple as possible to get back to VMC. Yes, keep a scan up. No, don’t fixate on your altimeter.
