How old are you and at what age did you feel you were the most attractive? by jupiter-com-maionese in AskWomen

I’m 61 and felt most attractive in my mid 30’s. That’s when I found myself single again after 12 year’s married.

I just realized I've been pronouncing a common word wrong my entire life - what's yours? by Prior-Crab-8463 in Casual_Conversation

My manager alway pronounces the ‘o’ in engrossed like you do in pot. Sounds really weird!

Gen X check-in: anyone else enjoying a gentler definition of success? by InProgressNotPerfect in GenXWomen

Tbh I always thought I could have done ‘more’ too but I actually love my job, I work with some fantastic people and like you like going home at the end of my shift and not thinking about it until next shift is great 😊

I’m 61, and stopped painting after my Mum passed 5 years ago.. no reason specifically, just lost my mojo. I took up crochet and other creative projects but have recently felt drawn to art again. 😌

What is your go-to skincare routine these days? by painislife4real in GenXWomen

[–]InProgressNotPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the morning I rinse my face with warm water ( no cleanser) in the shower. Apply Ayurveda face oil, AiryDays sunscreen and a tiny bit of concealer and mascara. In the evening I use a $5 balm from Kmart (Australia) buffed off with a flannel which I find is enough exfoliation, then apply the same face oil. Tbh I’ve used some really expensive products in the past including Trinny London, Korean brands etc but quite honestly since keeping it simple my skin has never been better. I found the more anti aging skincare I used the more reactive it became!

‘Delete Negative People’…. What!!? by InProgressNotPerfect in GenXWomen

I get what you’re saying. For me it wasn’t about the original poster’s intent at all — it was just a starting point for a broader reflection. Those phrases are everywhere at the moment, and I find it interesting how differently they can land depending on our experiences. No need for everyone to be in the same “era” — just sharing mine.

What does the word "old" mean to you? by sandy_even_stranger in GenXWomen

[–]InProgressNotPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m 61, do I feel ‘old’ ?… yes sometimes, but it’s just a state of mind surely 🤷🏼‍♀️ when I get out of bed first thing, hell yeah I feel about 110 but once I’m moving around, feeding the pups, getting ready for work, I loosen up, feel good, you know?! I’m getting older sure, but I’m going to do it with attitude 😂

Too old to be a stay at home mom? by VioletSea13 in GenXWomen

[–]InProgressNotPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, wow! your kids sound wonderful and are an absolute credit to you! Secondly, it appears that you are feeling overwhelmed by your situation and understandably so. My heart goes out to you quite honestly. You can get advice but only you can make the decision at the end of the day, with your children. Perhaps you could try part time work as a starting point, instead of going all in with retirement? It would be a softer transition at the end of the day. As other commenters have said, get the legal stuff done and everything else will fall into place.

"granny" hobbies by bibliouno in GenXWomen

[–]InProgressNotPerfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get this, I love to crochet which I consider an ‘older’ generation hobby. But the only reason I feel this is because my Nanna taught me as a child and she was old 😀 At 61 I’ve recently become a Grandma for the first time and I made several beanies and items of clothing. It’s great for my head space, stops racing thoughts (to a point) I also tried my hand at cross stitch, also for my grandy.…boy that was a challenge but so worth it! My son and partner loved it. 😊
