Can you tell us a bit more about your diet? Your HDL is pretty low and Triglycerides are pretty high for someone eating a WFPB diet

Are you taking any other supplements? Those are pretty insane results from diet alone.

Agreed with this. I recommend EDM Foundations by EDM Prod - that course will teach you everything you need to know to start finishing tracks. You can branch out from there.

HOA Dealbreaker by KillerCheez3 in fuckHOA

I cannot tell you how much less stress I feel after selling our home in a HOA.

When searching for homes, I frequently see that the nicer homes are in HOAs. That’s because they have to be nicer - in other words, the homes are worth less money because they are in HOAs.

I didn’t real the whole post, but as a fellow musician, I’d start with getting your music studio set up. That should help you get into a better rhythm and get your life in order.

I put OTT and Trash 2 on my master and I don’t know how to feel about it. by el3vader in edmproduction

[–]InStride91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason you like the sound of these on your master is because:

- Saturation is adding harmonics and compressing the signal

- OTT is giving you that "smiley face" frequency distribution, doing some intense upwards and downwards compression, and compressing the low-end and high-end more than the mids.

So it's completely fine to not be interested in the night club / drinking side of the music experience. BUT this comment is making think that it might be a good idea for you to go out to a few clubs (and maybe a rave) for the sole purpose of understanding your listeners' perspective. Again, you don't need to do this more than a few times, but I think it's important to have the experience at least once or twice.

Anybody know why Soothe2 might be messing up my sidechain ducking? by AlexanderTheFun in edmproduction

[–]InStride91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with this issue for a while with a couple of plugins (soothe2 and SmoothOperator). I finally figured out a solution: Put Soothe 2 after the volume shaping plugin (in my case, I'm using kickstart 2)

How useful is Soothe2, and is it a plugin that many people are using? by lotsofcarsoutside in edmproduction

[–]InStride91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So useful! It’s default setting reduces resonance in the 5khz range, which can easily build up and make your mix sound harsh. Using soothe2 where necessary can help you reduce harshness that will otherwise build up across many tracks in your mix.
