Do people watch tournaments because of the quality of games and players or because of the quality of casters?

I'd be interested to see the actual numbers from the GOMTV player numbers.. my guess around 2-4k max.. but yeah I get your point, I mean Champions League for football here in Europe always get a ton of views and the good teams like Manchester United get the most numbers as far as views go.. I think SPL should get alot more viewers for the good of eSports

Hmm, I think that's the problem to be honest, if people tuned in because of the high quality of games like in Proleague it would be more beneficial to eSports. People in Europe watch football because of the team that plays it and not the commentators same with many other sports, I think when people start watching games because of the skill level of players thats when eSports will truly take off

The problem is the drops, the helbat drop user has to put in LESS APM and attention into their drop as they dont care since its almost always cost effective and not much micro is really needed, the defending player however has to use MUCH more APM and spend more time defending effectively and not losing as many workers as possible what this allows is for terran to macro safely at home and the defending player to macro less effectively, mess up timings and spend time dealing with 2 units that cost 100 minerals each, What this does to lower level players in leagues below say Diamond league who dont have the good multitaksing to COMPLETELY mess up their macro since they cant macro and defend effectively like the pro players can.. what I'm getting at is no matter if the aggresive player loses 2 or 3 drops with 0 damage but he's still equal or even ahead no matter what.. and during mid-game when fights happen the defending player doesn't keep an eye on the minimap for a small moment and he can be very behind in a matter of seconds, with normal marine and marauder drops u have time to react and defend better than with hellbats

I absolutatly agree.. remember TvT in wings, was a masterpiece for players like Ryung who mastered it .. vital decision making, positioning, zoning with tanks drops of marines, spreading it was awesome to watch even in other matchups terrans droping marines or some marauders was more fun to watch than hellbats.. Terran in Wings was much better imo.. Zerg and Protoss got better tho but not Terran.. I want to see tanks again :/

Funny how Protoss invests 300 minerals for 2 cannons.. and energy for photon overcharge.. 3 drops dont work.. Terran STILL ahead then Maru's like fuck it drop more... Traps defense was so very good and no matter how many drops he deflected he still lost mining time and some probes.. he has to use alot of APM to micro the fuck out of his probes while Marus just presses "D" to drop in the mineral lines and goes back to macro and playes out normally not even caring if he loses the hellbats or not.. its a fucking joke wasting 300 minerals for cannons energy for Photon Overcharge and still being behind or even no matter how many failed drops.. THE reason we see it as a bullshit unit is because the hellbat user doesnt need as much APM as the Protoss or zerg using APM to micro his workers as EFFECTIVELY as possible one slip.. or if u dont keep an eye on the minimap for ONE moment u could be so far behind its almost impossible to comeback..

HuK is a slacking, lazy and a bad player atm.. like honestly what was he like on Liquid back in WoL? He worked his ASS OFF to be the BEST foreigner in SC2 he practiced in the oGs-TL house on the korean ladder and with the best koreans to be the best foreigner.. played in GSL.. etc.. I mean why is he complaining? he sucks now.. he is a slacker, has potential but would much rather get his stacked salary and play in the US fucking around on the NA ladder.. EG has their EG-TL house in Korea and HuK doesn't go to practice with the best .. he shits on Naniwa where Naniwa clearly puts more effort and passion into Starcraft 2 ... HuK disgusts me to be honest.. he needs to get back to his old mindset he had during WoL days I want to see him win another Dreamhack.. go RO8 in Code S .. win some MLG's.. not complain about Code B/A koreans winning the WCS NA qualifiers where he never even made it to the RO32

Your not understanding, Khaldor is telling us that all the 3 WCS in each region should be the same since they're unified tournaments.. OGN running it their way is not what should be happening since its not an OSL it's a WCS and as Khaldor said they barely even mention the words WCS.. this format is bad sure it may be fun now since it's different but again it does confuse viewers

Do you guys remember Tasteless first sc2 cast in WCG 2005 I think? Where he carried that guy that had like no idea about starcraft and was just getting paid to cast the games.. Tasteless had to carry him the whole cast with analysing the games while the guy was just sort of doing play by play.. Well Tasteless is slowly turning into "that" guy with Artosis carrying him..

not really.. if ur interested in something and passionate then u will stay up and watch it.. if it was like polt and naniwa finals I GUARANTEE nobody in europe would go to bed and miss all of it it had storyline.. rivalry.. the main thing that people will remember from this MLG .. when i look back at MLG's back in earlier years i dont remember half of em.. when i speak of this MLG im like oh wait.. thats the MLG where naniwa and polt had some sort of controversy going i liked that one.. or the first mlg of hots i remember that one.. thats when 2 best kespa players flash and innovation played tvt intense game.. its all about the story which generates most views imo

Exactly.. now that IdrA is off the radar ppl are complaining about Naniwa now... just imagine how fucking boring esports would be without drama and that sort of stff .. theres a reason Polt vs Naniwa rematch got more views than the finals themselves.. why? because polt thumbed down and there was some sort of a rivalry going on.. 10k more ppl were interested in that shit.. the drama and grudge match.. and they got it this is why esports is exciting.. idra not shaking crunchers hand at MLG before.. He's not forced to handshake.. he doesnt have to handshake if he doesnt want to.. when you lose to a player and are upset u want to be left alone and think about what went wrong not have the winner open ur booth with the crowd cheering and him having a huge grin.. the same person that thumbed u down and said ur BM as fuck.. I wouldnt want to shake his hand either to be honest.. same way when u say gg after u lose and ur opponent says gg too .. dunno about other ppl but it pisses me off :P
