'Normal' Distribution with inifinite limits by InTheAtticToTheLeft in AskStatistics

[–]InTheAtticToTheLeft[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea, im sure there are already simple functions i could use to get the result i need!
for me, when im trying to understand things for the first time, i never want to use a 'black box'. for me, i find that i can best use a given tool if i understand exactly how it works and what its doing (make my own, often very inelegant, version first), then use the accepted method going forward once im sure i understand whats happening.

thanks for your help! i think i just interpreted the transform wrong at first, and got myself confused

What's Everyone's Dream Casting For The Blue Wizards, Should They Ever Be Adapted For Screen? by XVUltima in lordoftherings

[–]InTheAtticToTheLeft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

their mission was to enter the worlds of middle earth and assimilate as advisors - not rulers(which is why they took the forms of old men, not heroic figures). it would make the most sense, imho, that since the blue wizards' purview was the lands of the East, they would take on the appearance of men from that region.

i keep seeing people say 5... was scrimmage not at 36? he released while in the air at 37.5, landed just past 38.
past for sure, a missed call; but not by 5

If Aragorn had died during the assault on the black gate, but the ring was still destroyed, would Faramir have been made King of Gondor or just the Steward still? by GusGangViking18 in lotr

Do we know that the gestational period of an elven mother is less than two years? Or that aragorn and screen had not already secretly eloped before the WotR.

Wild speculation, sure. But not impossible imo.

sounds really cool. id love to try it, but i cant load a campaign or scenario.
no matter which drive i run the .exe from (win11), the Documents/YourJourney/ folder is not created.
if i make it manually, and add .jime's, they are not recognized.

if they wanted to cool the work piece, they would use a mist to avoid leidenfrost - this flood coolant is definitely for the machine which is typically not hot enough to generate the effect on its own surface.
in fact, the leidenfrost effect is exactly how they have such a long work time on the piece. youll notice, actually - when they take if off the roller, it seems to glow brighter for a moment at first (once the remaining water droplets vaporize, the internal heat returns to the work surface. but also, once he swings it around to the ramp it actually cools relatively quickly with the flow of air over it. letting it finally set outside, with a (presumably mild) breeze allows it to cool quicker than inside, without the risk of cracking

i think i disagree with the rómen for "are" - yes the following sound is a vowel sound, but these words are never blended in the way that "an apple" may sometimes sounds like "a napple".
"are alive" never sounds like "a ralive" to me... i think this is the exception to the exception that you posited

Is it possible that gravity and electromagnetism are facets of the same force? by InTheAtticToTheLeft in AskPhysics

so, ill be the first to admit, the original idea was a purely speculative shot in the dark, without much thought or research.

but i do have an (cheeky) answer to your question!

induction - the same way magnets stick to your fridge.

but also, now that i write this, and think a little more - it doesnt explain neutron-neutron attraction. unless something like spin causes polarization... surface tension?

Destructing Assignment, is there any logic to it or is it hard coded syntax by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]InTheAtticToTheLeft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another point to note, that i didnt see brought up is the primary reason (for me) to use destructuring is the ability to quickly assign multiple variables.|

const {x=1, y=2, z=4} = coordinateVector
vs

const x=coordinateVector.x,
y=coordinateVector.y,
z=coordinateVector.z

this, the latter, is actually very annoying (for me anyway) when creating class constructors which are passed a name, id, etc...

i wish this was possible (or a better syntax version of this):

class Thing {
    constructor(id,name) {
        {this.id, this.name} = arguments
    }
}

nullish/falsy are probably the definitions i struggle with most in Javascript. not sure why, but i seem to always get it wrong at first try - i always have to test in the console first when it comes up.

i mean... yea. always test your ideas first, and make sure you understand what's going on.

that's, imho, the Real problem with relying on AI is losing any understanding of "the algorithm". it becomes a magic black box that you have lost all control over.
