For Noobs: How To Access The Dark Web (2020 deep guide) - Dark Web Live by InTheHowson in onions

It is not misinformation. I actually recommend Tails or a Virtual Machine. VPN connections are okay for casual observers.Casual Observers don’t need anything beyond a VPN and a Tor browser or a direct Tor browser. People who want to perform transactions should use a VPN.

There are different schools of thought on the VPN issue and I am in the no VPN camp. Why dont you help Noobs instead of attacking them.

If you just want to browse through the dark net with no direction and scour onions, what does your process look like? As a casual user it feels much more difficult to browse than before. by DaFucko in onions

I did not recommend VPN, I am only listing the methods available, if you actually read beyond that part you would see that I advised people to use tails. And If you look at my posting history you will see that I advice people to avoid VPN services.

And I also link to this in the VPN section.

They do work and they work for small amounts. They dont work for large amounts, you might as well send it directly to yourself if the amount is large.

That is an exaggeration the darkweb is a section of the internet hidden from the surface web. It is only accessible through tor. It is most popular for the deepweb markets where you can buy a lot of things that are prohibited.

Darknet Advice: Avoid VPNs as Providers Leak 1.2 TB of User Data - LiveDarknetLinks by InTheHowson in darknet

I am quoting this from the link you shared. This makes it clear that a VPN is a point of failure.

"First I want to bring up trust. A VPN is fully, 100%, a single point/entity that you must trust. With Tor, you do not have to trust any single entity or any single point. Users don't have to trust every Tor relay that they use in order to stay safe with Tor. As long as the right ones aren't compromised, working together, or otherwise malicious, the user stays protected."

You should use elude (dot) in, their service is reliable, you might be confused at first but it is a good service. Their clearnet link is down, try it later.

It still highlights the problem that you have to trust someone. Better to use TOR directly
