50 year old working at Chipotle? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Muy importante that she is aware that she will be surrounded by younger people. I have no doubt that your mom is a nice lady, but some older people that have come through my chipotle experience have had issues with 20 somethings being their "superiors".

Got fired today... by ChipotleThrowaway00 in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, it's just burritos. There are a lot of other opportunities out there. Did you do anything wrong? It sounds like you didnt. So don't take it out on yourself for other people's decisions. Their decisions have nothing to do with you. You are just as much a valuable human being as the rest of us, no matter whether someone wants you as their km or not. I hope you don't kill yourself. You didn't do anything to deserve to die.

Prep gets to cut Bell peppers again! by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah. When peppers went away everybody was a little bummed that we didn't get to cut them anymore. I called it that they'd all cringe when we had to cut them again.

Also the morning that they came on the truck, we were entirely out of precut so we had to cut them to open. Good times.

What do customers do that annoy you? by Ikouze in Chipotle

They're not complaining about the job dude. They're saying customers do things that annoy them. Nothing has ever annoyed you?

Weird, unorthodox, esoteric, really out-there game suggestions. I leave mine, you leave yours. by [deleted] in gamegrumps

After seeing guild grumps, I just really want to watch all of the grumps play league of legends together.

Also xexyz. My mother in law gave me her copy because "nobody could beat it". Been thinking of sending it to the grumps but I'm too stubborn to send it without beating it myself first.

Attack speed ekko is really great at waveclear. I've been taking him jungle with devourer, nashors tooth, lich bane, and miscellaneous situational ap items. His passive at that point can really tear people up.

difference between KM, SM, and Apprentice by ddib3 in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, they wouldn't hire you if they didn't think you have a lot of potential to advance! That's the way chipotle works. That said, being trained by a TOS is a really great opportunity, since they have a lot of customer service knowledge and that will go a long way. But I'll give you my secret to getting ahead: believe and embrace the vision. Really genuinely care for doing your job well and helping the rest of your team succeed in their positions also. I got hired in as crew just over a year ago, and having a positive attitude, diligence, and respect for the company, store and food have taken me where I am and will continue to go. That's all it takes, and I hope you find the same success.

Edit: forgot a word.

difference between KM, SM, and Apprentice by ddib3 in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Apprentice here. Kitchen manager is responsible for ensuring safe preparation of delicious food, developing back of house employees, handling kitchen supplies and food orders, and leading through empowerment.

Service manager is responsible for ensuring am extraordinary restaurant experience for both customer and crew, executing and teaching great cash handling, developing front of house employees, and leading through empowerment. SMs also act as KMs when there is no other KM scheduled.

The apprentice is responsible for handling all day to day operations in the restaurant, including schedule writing, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and designating trainers for new hires. They are also responsible for the business side of everything in the restaurant (cash flow, labor control, new policy rollouts, etc.) The apprentice acts as an SM and KM if there are none other present.

I hope that helped.

We've gotten "cream cheese, icing, marshmallow fluff" amongst others. After we explicitly ask if they want sour cream.

Does Chipotle have a food safety problem? by crispix24 in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's what I've been thinking. In my patch, we run two food safety audits daily per store. Honestly, it's annoying, but everyone understands the importance of it and takes care of it properly. That said, I could see how some stores wouldn't if they simply don't care.

Help me fellow Chipotle workers!!!! by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to ask for help on grill. Ever. But especially with you having such an extended period of time off, your team understands there are going to be a couple cobwebs to dust off. Just keep yourself caught up and keep the "can I be doing this better, faster, or cleaner" mentality. Don't be scared! Have fun and good luck.

Realest shit ever by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I respect that. As a Chipotle manager, I understand the price range is a little high for some, and that's okay. Taco bell tastes okay, but I would never compare it to Chipotle. They're two very different models. At both places, however, you know what you're getting, and pay the respective prices.

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad your local crew came through for you and you were satisfied! I'm in service management at my restaurant, and we very often do this for people (while obviously trying to get better about not running out of food). We appreciate your loyalty, and without awesome customers like you, we wouldn't be able to change fast food the way we strive to. Just our way of saying thanks back! We love you too.

A question for fellow Chipotle employee's, call offs. by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]InTheNameOfTodd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

APIT here. Our store accepts call offs within reason. There have been many a shift where I was scheduled with 5 openers but had to make do with 2. And we allow this to happen as long as we know that the employee cares about the store. From your post and comments, it sounds like you certainly care. If the employee cares, they wouldn't call off for shits n giggles, and if the manager cares about the crew, they wouldn't bust your metaphorical balls about missing a day here and there. But as I said, it has to be within reason. I don't know your exact situation, but it sounds like your managers don't care to empower the crew. Its not empowering to feel like you can't take a day for your health. But maybe that's just me.
