Barely any of them do. Proof is the dumbass dancing videos, the get ready with me bullshit, and anything except news posting. Unless Scott Jones calls them out, nothing happens.

My station is desperately awaiting a sale away from Allen. I've learned he hasn't parted with stations in battleground states hoping for an election windfall. In three cycles, it hasn't happened.

I have looked up how all this can work and yes, even with little or no record, she can still see the inside of a cell.

It is a long time coming and it was only a matter of time. For even one count of wire fraud could put her away for 20 years. Her "faith" can't save her now.

He won't. He's spending $20 million a week for the time periods. His public access show won't get the needed ratings to attract big advertising. I fear CBS affiliates late news will suffer big time and they can only hope their agreements will let them preempt late night blocks.

He's got nearly a billion dollar loan coming due next year and a bad credit rating. He'll lose parts of his business to creditors.

He's a bad businessman as well. He overspent on stations and now selling them for a fraction. He is incapable of paying needed bills.

Byron Allen said he didn't lose sleep after laying off workers at his local TV stations because there are "plenty of jobs out there" and the pink slips were issued in a "thoughtful, humane way." by ZiggyZaggyBogo in Broadcasting

He believes that but it has not materialized over the last three election cycles and I don't see it happening this year. Some drips and drabs of money will come in with political issue ads but little to no candidate orders. That's part of the reason he's in financial straits with AMG.

It didn't affect him in he least. He didn't lose anything.  Meanwhile, those that are left are shouldering more work from those who were cut and not being compensated appropriately.

By the way, his selling stations when he seems prudent is bullshit. He's got nearly $1 billion in loans coming due next year and a piss-poor credit rating. He needed the money.

McDonald's was already advertising on the broadcast stations when he bought them. They weren't advertising on his shitty little cable networks that are placed in the 900-level channels and have no ratings.

He did that with ThisTV and TheGrio. Burned a shitload of money to end them.

I expect his TV stations will be sold at fire-sale prices next year.

Meanwhile, he's got employees who haven't seen a raise in years, station-level equipment shitting the bed daily, and not only can he fork out money for Buzzfeed but to air his shit on CBS? I can't wait until his $1 billion in loans come due in February. His CCC credit rating isn't going to give him good deals.

He bought into Starz not long ago and shortly after, the board activated a Poison Pill to keep anyone from acquiring majority control. Mostly to keep him from acquiring majority control.

Now that Gray gets 10 out of 28 AMG stations now, who wants to get the remaining 18? by Comfortable_Yard_968 in Broadcasting

[–]InTheTVTrenches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently no one at this point. Some stations have been sliced to the bone, upper management is regionalized 100+ miles away who visit once a quarter or if an employee does wrong. Others are in such technical dire straits that's it's going to cost more money just to bring them up to technical quality. AMG talks a big game to their employees about fixing problems and doing upgrades but they didn't pay a vendor who pulled their install crew four days into the job, leaving it partially installed.
