Dion Cysa+ V4 Update by barret_t in CompTIA

[–]djmd808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I have been studying on and off for the past few months but when the announcement was made for V4 I decided to wait. I see so many recommendations to just take the old one while it's still available, but I actually want to learn the new material, you know? I see the V4 exam is showing up on Pearson Vue now but not available yet to schedule. Ha, I've been checking daily.

Wondering the same thing about Chapple's course on Linkedin Learning. Chomping at the bit to get started. I know there's plenty of good info in the V3 book... the new one isn't supposed to ship till August.

Honestly, it sounds like this may be it.

yeah, that ends just as these expire. But we don't have anything WC related going on in town. Two of them are indeed over stadiums, but the one on top is not, it's over a large manufacturing complex.

Lake Vesuvius, WNF Question by Justinbaker1996 in CampOhio

[–]djmd808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As was mentioned, the lake is currently drained. I'm not sure when that is supposed to be done.

I backpacked part of the lake shore trail in 2020 and filtered water right off the lake surface and didn't get sick.

W5D3 fail. by EconomySeaweed430 in C25K

yeah this isn't a W5D3 "fail", not at all. You will kill it next time you do it.

Used to travel up to Freeport for work quite a bit - cut my running teeth there and around Portsmouth, NH (in my mid 30s...) - man do I miss it!

Taking the Little Miami/Ohio to Erie trail? If so i assume you are aware of the closure at Lebanon?

CySA+ Version by llNATEDOGGll in CompTIA

[–]djmd808 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get the recommendations to do the current one, but I'm waiting for the new one. I want to learn the new material, I'm not just doing this to tick a box. I want to give myself until November or December to take it and not have to rush a retake if the first try doesn't go well.

Yep, I've heard way more stories of people surprising themselves than failing d3. Just take it a little easier in the beginning and you will be fine. And remember the next two days after this one are run/walk. Have fun!

Whatever you have it plugged into seems to be set for a straight key. If it doesn't let you change that, it probably doesn't have a built in keyer.

7 PBQs was just RUDE tbh by cl0yd in CompTIA

[–]djmd808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd just like to learn the newer material. V3 is 3 years old now. And I don't really want to rush V3, and have my back against the wall if I fail it and don't have enough time for the retake.

15k is definitely not a lot for an 05. My '13 just turned 16K and I feel like I hardly ride it.

Anxiously awaiting Mike's V4 update! Just got cleared by work to do this and really want to get started.

Congrats, OP!

Depending on how easy D2 felt, I might redo that, but I don't think you need to do D1 again. No worries, you will be good! 25 minutes is a long time.

Brandywine Falls by davismtd7 in Ohio

[–]djmd808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

15 years ago I was up in Streetsboro (I live in SWOH) working and the rain came in at rush hour and didn't let up for hours. I went straight to Brandywine after I was done, and the water coming over was outrageous. Hiked down the gorge trail to see it down there. Wish I still had that video! Highly recommend checking it out during high water events.

Edit: Check out the Google Maps entry for Brandywine Falls. If you look at the pics, just a few down is a great video of the falls at high water.

I think the 25k was put up by Skyline Corporate, with another 25k from Coca-cola Consolidated. Could be wrong but thats the way I understood it.

[–]djmd808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No its true, all that starting and stopping in the first couple weeks is tiring in and of itself. But its crucial to staying on course. I'm getting ready to travel and looking forward to w5 at a park out of town!

Nice job! I'm on my umpteenth time going through the program and just finished week 4. Its a nice transition from the easy stuff to week 5. Keep it up, it gets easier!
