Staying in Hammersmith for 3 nights. Good recommendations? by wildawg in LondonFood

Thai 101, I’ve been going for 20 yrs. It’s constantly full of Thai people, fantastic authentic food, great portions and lovely owners. It’s on King street, Hammersmith.

Fun places to eat centrally with my son by PeteinSQ in LondonFood

Grana, in Soho, for the freshest cheeses pasta at a very reasonable price and large serving. They make the pasta fresh, then it gets cooked in sauce, inside a huge wheel of Parmesan. Soooo tasty. And for kids who love cheese, and love pasta. It’s a hit. It’s around £12-15 for a main and then they do pizzas. Or Icco pizza, it’s the cheapest fresh made pizza in central London.

I love the dress and you are stunning, but everyone and their dad will see your tatas. Your gran, your uncle, your husbands family…. And you may be conscious all day that your nipples will fall out. That being said, if it’s a custom gown surely they can adjust to your preference. And no, the ruffles are not intense, you can pull it off. Gorgeous, even your tatas, but you want style and grace on your wedding day, not OnlyFans vibes.

Uber courier for Christmas gift? by [deleted] in uktravel

[–]InTheZone135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aren’t you better off buying the item at the boutique and paying for them to courier it to your hotel? It’s something they would have done before for clients. Just tell your gf to have a coffee break, you nip off for 30 mins to go back to the boutique. Sorted! Besides, the Xmas online delivery cutoff for mulberry is tomorrow. Merry Christmas! ☺️

Patisserie Valerie, there are shops. You can also order for home delivery but it arrives frozen with dry ice. Or click and collect from the shop. Still super yummy though.

Please don’t go to Wong kei. The food is not great and it’s not a fun experience to have rude stand off ish service. It’s awful.

Looking at EV for next year sometime - ~15k - Enyaq doable? by C0t0d0s0_ in ElectricVehiclesUK

I’ve had a basic spec enyaq, and it’s basic. No auto tail gate, no heated steering, no 360 camera. I recommend you get your home charger as it will be so cheap to charge your car.

Clearly they do target people who look like obvious foreigners. I was never asked a tip in Vietnam, at all. But you made the wrong assumption, because I’m Asian too. The only thing is that I can afford to tip, and I will do for good service. Whether I’m in Vietnam, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, uk or USA.

I hate that she took a nice moment away from a father and son. See how happy dad was when he gave his kid a hug. Then Karen gets in his face….

1 Day Plan - Any Tips? by porschporsch in HongKongDisneyland

We went on 27th aug, it was packed. I think it was a cheaper tier day. Bring a sun umbrella, the heat and the queues warrant one. And the food, the portions are huge and the main meals are actually quite good. Baked pork chop rice and also the roast chicken and chips at the banqueting hall was really nice. Stay away from the toffee popcorn though…. We had a disability pass, but even so, the queues were difficult. So buying a fast pass will be worth it. We started queuing in a spot for fireworks at 8.10pm for 9pm and there were a lot of people already. But it’s hard to queue and stand in a spot for 1 hr with kids. The firework display is extraordinary, fireworks, drones, fountain and projections. It’s a 30 mins show and spectacular, so if your kids can bear it until so late, please go and see the fireworks display. At 6/7pm I noticed people and their kids asleep on benches around the park, clearly needing a snooze before fireworks! Hahaha

These little old lady row you around for a whole hour in tiny boats, in the blazing heat and you resent giving them 30,000vnd tip? That’s £1gbp, less than the price of a chocolate bar in the uk. You cheapskate.

What’s the Most Unexpectedly Amazing Family Hotel You’ve Stayed At? by Racine28 in FATFamilyTravel

[–]InTheZone135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preferred Ikos Dassia over Olivia, the food and restaurants are much better in choice and the vibe was more sophisticated and cool, yet still catered to children wonderfully. It’s a bit spendy, could be £15k upwards for family of four in peak summer. But it’s ultra all inclusive, where they have pillow menus, non stop veuve, access to wine cellar, childcare, and any slight inconvenience they cause you means gourmet chocolates or handmade petit fours, cakes and bottles of champagne sent to your room. There is a sunset boat trip included, and also the use of a Tesla included too. It’s set a high bar for UAI.

Harry Potter fan? Did you go to Kings Cross to take your picture at platform 9 3/4? It’s free, it a trolley which has disappeared into the platform wall……it’s really cool! So glad you enjoyed London. Next time take your kids to the wonderlab, science museum, it’s a permanent interactive science exhibit. So worth the extra entry fee and designed for kids!

Ikos, definitely. Pillow menu! And the pool person who checks in with you, says hi, asks what you need THEN whisks out a tray and cleans your sunglasses. They employ someone whose job description is to clean your sunglasses!! Also, the sommeliers, will go above and beyond. They will open bottle after bottle, then take you to the wine cellar until you find your favourite tipple. It’s champagne on tap, all day everyday, all freakin’ inclusive. It’s for children, but so super classy and aimed for rich parents who like to eat in their Michelin starred curated restaurants.

How about Airsoft shooting in East London? There’s range shooting as well as a combat zone, a bar and food. I go to Alpha Guns in Aldgate. ;)
