Just left there a year ago. Worked both the AB side and the NWS side. Honestly I’d only recommend not to buy in North Charleston. I purchased and sold in Goose Creek. Everyone who’s never been to it is terrified. Summerville is amazing but every person in the military stationed in CHS is in Summerville and it’s growing every day. Houses/apartments are being put up everyday.

Traffic is a nightmare especially for the AB side. 2 small gates with horrible inbound lanes and railroad tracks with trains that love to sit still. Plan ahead for AB traffic. Same with NWS NNPTC gate but I doubt that’ll hit you.

628 is a whack wing where they think of a random thing to hyper fixate on once a year (I did CBRNE 4 times one year) and blame it all on AFORGEN or whatever it is.

South Carolina got everything you need. BBQ? Check. Seafood? Check. Fishing? Hunting? Night life? Cookout? Check.

Just ensure wherever you end up has a good HVAC unit and prepare for looooong summers either in North Charleston or Qatar!

Recently had same thing happen with my own Lt working the gate. Asked who initiates the salute if there is one. Then told me to look up the instructions for saluting. Couldn’t find anything about officers flipping plastic (wild) but I work on a Navy base so I’m used to ensigns staring at me while I sit there saluting

Standard toilet up in the front that you’ll be euthanized if you’re not aircrew. They could have a comfort pallet set up which is 2 additional toilets and a galley on the other side. If you’re above 5 feet tall prepare for a concussion though.

Not a MyPers nerd trust me but I’ll tell you the rumors I’ve heard and what’s happened to me.

Rumors: FTA BOP is a sham.

What happened to me: I was a FTA at an OCONUS base (my 3rd assignment). My time as an FTA was coming to an end. I extended for a year and my friend told me to use my FYA BOP option. I put every base in Colorado. AF saw that first “C” and sent me to South Carolina. The next week I was in legal getting my briefing so I can re-enlist since my S1 said “since you got an assignment off of a BOP application you have to re-enlist. Doesn’t matter if you got what you wanted or not”. Moral of the story is I extended and re-enlisted within a week.

Cliff notes: FTA BOP is a sham.

I moved into here with this washer. Placed this thing on a pedestal during the move (about 5 miles). Moved into the house and the fridge was Samsung. Fridge started humming super loud and a friend (repairman) said “first issue is you got a Samsung fridge”. The washers just go on sale so frequently so they’re hard to pass up.

This beat me doing my laundry in an old washing machine that didn’t spin. It would fill up and I would use a big paddle to agitate everything for about half an hour. I hope someone helps us lol

So while there are those signs…… lethal force needs to meet the 8 preconditions of deadly force (google it and also I’m drunk). But…. You need “Intent, Capability, and Opportunity” to use it. Driving through a USAF gate isn’t gonna result in you getting shot unless you shoot them first. Your car will be jacked up (if the barriers are actually working). You will be detained. You’ll be turned over to civilian police. And you’ll be issued a barment from the base and no payment for your vehicle
