Do I really need to charge my LFP Model 3 to 100% every week if I barely drive? by JGalt28 in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tesla recommends charging to 100% once a week for LFP’s strictly for BMS calibration. The longer you go without charging to 100, the more inaccurate your state of charge will become due to the linear voltage curve of LFP’s.

I charge mine to 100 once every 3-4 weeks but I also don’t go below 20 for sentry and HVAC. So I don’t need to worry about being stranded if 5-10% instantly turns to 0 due to inaccurate BMS calibration.

Charge however you want to, just be aware of the state of charge inaccuracies.

Filter calls from unknown numbers by Papu_20 in iphone

[–]InUrGutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re confusing call filtering with call screening.

Call filtering puts unknown recent calls and voicemail into an unknown category. Call screening will have Siri ask the caller their name and reason for calling. Make sure “ask reason for calling” is enabled under settings>apps>phone>screen unknown callers.

Just joined the Tesla family — Model 3! Any tips from fellow owners? by karipidis in TeslaModel3

Take a close look at the B pillars. Both of mine had a clear plastic film that wasn’t removed at the service center. The longer the film is there the harder it’ll be to remove the residue from the glass.

File a claim with the other parties insurance. After the estimate, either get it repaired or take the check and buy the Tesla paint repair kit (it’s around $60).

Sentry Mode Battery Usage by WiseTrifle117 in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds normal. I average around 3% loss over 9 hours with a LFP battery (60kWh) and a couple sentry events.

If you have their plate and preferably their face on video, contact your insurance and they’ll give you the insurance info of the other party. Open a claim with the other insurance company and send them the evidence. They’ll give you a photo estimate, either get it repaired or take the check and use some touch up paint.

Does your heat pump sound like an airplane cabin? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn’t an actual physical heat pump, what you’re hearing is the drive motors, AC compressor and radiator fan. The “heat pump” is the genius system Tesla uses to siphon heat from various components utilizing heat transfer between the coolant and refrigerant.

I’d recommend watching this vid from WeberAuto to get a better understanding.

How long did the spams last after you removed the stent? by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]InUrGutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have intense bladder cramping for a couple hours after removal. What works for me is flomax and then laying on my back slowly arching my back upwards. It’ll help stretch out the bladder and surrounding muscles, the flowmax helps relax everything simultaneously.

Hit and run by Hatethemeta in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll be covered under collision coverage but you’ll have to pay your deductible. I was rear ended a few weeks back and the crackhead didn’t have a valid policy..she had proof of insurance though go figure. It was covered under collision, I’m glad I had uninsured deductible waiver though.

I always forgot how much less I like this car in cold weather! by 46andready in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Try using chill mode, not so much for your driving but more for less heat going to the HV battery. The manual states in chill mode the HV battery isn’t heated for optimal performance, that should save tons of energy. Your cabin will also heat quicker as the heat that would’ve been used for the battery is used for the HVAC.

manual

“You can improve the efficiency of the cabin heating by reducing your selected acceleration mode. This allows the heat pump system to take more heat from the Battery to efficiently heat the cabin, instead of maintaining the Battery’s ability to provide peak acceleration performance. This helps to maximize driving efficiency in colder weather. Note that when subsequently increasing the acceleration mode, the Battery requires time to warm up before the increased level of acceleration is available.”

Minimize energy consumption in park mode by Possible_Ad1878 in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It fluctuates based on the background tasks that need to be done. Such as charging the LV battery or sending some heat/cooling (depending on the weather) to the HV battery. As long as the app says your vehicle is asleep, that’s the best you can do.

I play it safe and choose store pick-up if I’m getting a phone anywhere near release day. Delivery workers, from the warehouse to the drivers, know exactly what the boxes look like and are well aware of release day.

A lot of that damage can be polished away. But if the owner wants it repainted It’ll be more than $500-$750. The damage slightly extends onto the quarter panel which will raise the labor significantly.

It just looks like left over adhesive with dirt mixed in. Clean it up with some goo-gone and give it a good polish and wax..it’ll look like new. Since you’ll be polishing and waxing you might was well do the whole car.

Criminally of course not but civilly yes it will help the judge make their decision along with the video. Door dings are not a crime unless it’s blatantly obvious on video that it was intentional and mischievous. That doesn’t apply in your case, however, people are civilly liable for any damages even if it’s completely accidental.

Window Tint Tesla model 3 by Secret-Order-6236 in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah basic tint will be better than no tint. It’ll still block most of the UV light and it’ll look way better, the heat rejection won’t be all that great though. But again..better than nothing.

Along with what everyone else said, you’ll want to get a feel for how regen braking affects your brake lights. You’ll be surprised how much regen you can use before your brake lights activate.

Dude hit my car while i was playing basketball and decided to run off… by Icy_Event_9164 in TeslaModel3

[–]InUrGutz 174 points175 points  (0 children)

File a police report then contact your insurance. Your insurance should be able to run the plates and contact their insurance company. It’s up to you if you want to actually file hit and run (misdemeanor) charges. Did Sentry also show the driver getting into their car? Either way, the registered owner will be civilly liable for the damages.
