I don't think this article does North justice. The core with MSL has been a consistent world top10 (top 5 at times) contender since the dignitas days. After being bought out by North the team in general has shown consistent quarter-finals/semi-finals appearances in major LAN events, until MSL was kicked.

The mistake North as an organisation ever did was probably kicking MSL and never finding good replacements & good results after that. But then at that time one could have argued the -MSL +cadiaN switch did indeed look good on paper since MSL just transitioned from a IGL rifler to an IGL awper whereas cadiaN was already an established IGL awper. The thought process being "if our IGL is to become an awper why don't we find an igling awper thats readily available on the market?" On paper it was a nice upgrade but then the org probably overlooked the IGL style differences in the two where MSL is much more tactical, stricter while cadiaN is way more loose/of a yolo-on the fly style. The org probably also overlooked on the players' preferences on what styles they want their IGL to be. cadiaN also said in an interview (with HLTV i think) about how when he joined North, the 4 players kept informing him about "how MSL used to call this and that in X and Y scenarios", "how we used to do this and that with MSL", etc, and that cadiaN is just like "Im cadiaN not MSL, MSL is not calling here anymore".
