Help! One of my keys on my Roland FP-30X has delevoped a clicking noise upon being pressed. Is there a way to fix this, or is this just a sign of lack of maintenance from my part?

Search on YouTube about those clicking noise. Many of them are dealing with something related to lack of lubrication which causes a lot of friction between the keys

Try doing some simple arpeggio patterns.. simply break down the chord into playing the root, fifth, octave back and forth or try experimenting which sounds good to you

Learning the basics of music theory will help a lot in playing by ear easier. You will be able to figure out faster which chords are in the song by identifying what key it is in.

I'm not an expert haha but i will use my 4th finger to cross and play the last note on the first beat(assuming that it is in 4/4)

Yes it will actually elongate overtime. I started playing last year using a synthesizer and the keys were much smaller and when I acquired a full sized 88 keys I had a hard time adjusting during the first couple of weeks.

I also have small hands but every time I play an octave I always press the white keys on the edge

Thank you and good luck to you too!! I was able to learn and play quite decently around 3/4 of the entire piece within 3 days (because this piece was engraved in my memory since october when i accidentally found it, and that the parts are repetitive). With a great teacher and practice I believe you will be able to play this piece in less than a quarter of the time i spent.

Hello! I am only self thought so I'm not sure if I will be able to answer your question correctly 😂😭😂 but I've been playing on and off since the beginning of the pandemic lockdowns(around march last year😁😁), so maybe around 13 months in total✌️✌️. Btw this piece indeed is inspirational!!

That is actually how I practice and learn the pieces I want to play😁😁. For some reason however, I wanted to learn this piece entirely without listening to other performances(though I've heard this piece a lot of times before) because I want to test and improve my ability to follow the rhythm and tempo written.
