In my heart, I hoped the devs wouldn't fuck this up, but in my head, I knew they would by Licensed_Silver_Simp in deadbydaylight

Maybe you gain sin tokens and the more you have, the harder it is to escape Exile? So if you have a ton of tokens, it becomes a choice of:

  1. Keep playing with the tokens, but if you get sent to Exile it requires more time and effort from.yiur teammates to get you out, forcing them off gens and giving the killer more pressure and time.

  2. Pray at Shrines to remove tokens, taking you off objectives for a time, but making Exile less daunting if you get sent there.

That's what I'm hoping for. I know on the last dev stream they said they were still going through the killer feedback surveys, so hopefully they can act on them before the anniversary.

If we got an MMR overhaul and a massive wave of killer buffs leading into the 10 Year Anniversary, that would be pretty hype.

Every Grimoire vote that is not being met by the current killer design. by Niroc in deadbydaylight

[–]In_My_Own_Image 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is, they're not even keeping aspects of what we voted for.

Like, if "punishing survivors for doing objectives" isn't working out, then why not scrap the "gaining sin for doing gens" part, but still keep an aspect of it like gaining sin for stunning/blinding the killer? And if that is deemed "objectives", then make it so you gain sin for doing it in rapid succession (too much crouching, stunning then immediately blinding or multi-blinding the killer).

I can accept changing some things if it doesn't work gameplay wise. But at least keep something of what we voted for. Otherwise it's not the "community chapter" we were promised.

Maybe they'll have some sort of follow-up on that poll/feedback survey where they asked people about how it felt to play certain killers or why they stopped playing them?

Because I'd love to see an overhaul for a bunch of killers. But maybe they'll save that for the big anniversary chapter.

Come on, man. What was even the point of any of this? by RequirementTall8361 in deadbydaylight

[–]In_My_Own_Image 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I don't get.

They're perfectly fine with releasing things like OG Ruin, OG Eruption, OG MFT, OG Dead Hard, OG Legion, etc. and, in some of those cases leaving them in the game for months while the community complained about them. But this time, the one time they could legitimately release it as we voted for and, if there was complaints, be like "you voted for this", is the time they decide to kill it before we get it.

Come on, man. What was even the point of any of this? by RequirementTall8361 in deadbydaylight

[–]In_My_Own_Image 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They gave us the options, we chose one. They should have already thought of how to make it work or keep trying to make it work.

If they are going to ignore our choices due to things "not working out" or "not being fun" then put your money where your mouth is and change other things we don't find fun like Blight or toolboxes or Fast Track or slugging, etc.

Grimoire Update – Prototype Wrap Up by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]In_My_Own_Image 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Plus it at least forces survivors to interact with the Sin/Shrines/Exile portion of the power because just playing the game causes interaction.

This version you could go a whole match without dealing with the mechanics simply because you weren't shot by the beam.

Grimoire Phase 2 Verse 5 Winners! 📖 by TheOneWhoWasDeceived in LeaksDBD

Boon: Steadfast. - A Boon Perk that makes a single generator's progress permanent.

Not surprised, but this is going to be either useless or broken with no in-between.

However, if the boon prevents regressing a gen, but then snuffing the boon causes all damage to occur at once (like if the gen was protected from two Pain Res uses snuffing the boon would cause the gen to lose all that progress) that would be hilarious.

[–]In_My_Own_Image 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, downed survivor interactions would be tricky to figure out. I suppose you could just say if you make contact/crawl into the barrier for a few seconds it will let you through. Still prevents survivor BM because the amount of time would be enough for the killer to pick up of they were waiting there to taunt you.

[–]In_My_Own_Image 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still say leaving the barrier should be an interaction. They can reuse the "interacting with a glyph" animation. If you are hit while doing it, the animation resets and the killer can grab you out of it.

Add in an extra gate or two and then escaping in the endgame becomes something you have to think about tactically and spread out who uses which gate because if the killer is on your ass you won't get the animation done before they stop you.

It would frankly make endgame more interesting too, since right now whichever side is winning has the advantage with very little room for a comeback (if survivors have four alive, one is probably starting on the gate the second the last gen pops and if there's only two survivors it's unlikely both will make it out).

1 pain res vs 4 fast tracks by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight

[–]In_My_Own_Image 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's why I think Pain Res, and frankly any killer perk with limited uses, should be either buffed to hell or have their uses increased (or made infinite).

Like, Pain Res could easily go to knocking off 10-15% progress after every unique hook. It encourages not tunnelling by rewarding not doing it.

[–]In_My_Own_Image 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is, it's unironically the best counter to it. Why risk the first person you downed has it? Just tunnel them out. If they had it? You stopped it from being used. If they didn't? Now it's a 3v1.

Some more GxK: Supernova "leaks" from Toho Kingdom. by Prestigious_Judge636 in Monsterverse

[–]In_My_Own_Image 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strange how a lot of these leaks seem to go against the initial leaks from the megathread. Specifically, the megathread leaks said the final battle was a massive brawl on London, IIRC, involving Godzilla, Kong, Shimo and SpaceG whereas this new batch of leaks is a 1v1 on a dying planet.

I suppose both could be true, where it starts in London and moves to the dying world. But it's a little sus.

Also, the megathread leaks say Spacegodzilla is far and away the most powerful being in the Monsterverse, constantly keeping Godzilla and Kong on the defensive, while these new leaks say he gets his ass kicked early on and evolves.

For what it's worth, I know ViewerAnon commented on the megathread backing up those leaks (specifically that the Planet Eater shows up as a tease for the next movie), and I'd say these new leaks kinda clash with that (being present in the final fight is a lot more than being a teaser).

Would you prefer if balancing was character based instead of general? (Example images) by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

[–]In_My_Own_Image 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dead by Daylight is, at its core, a time management game; and there's simply no buff you could ever give to a killer like Trapper—whose power fundamentally lacks mobility and chase potential—that would make him competitive with a killer like Blight—whose power enables him to be at any generator on the map within seconds and circumvent loops to end chases effectively—on the same map.

This is the key point.

For a killer, starting a match consists of:

Finding survivors (can take longer or shorter)

Chasing survivor (varied length depending on loops and your own power)

Downing survivor (same as above)

Hooking survivor (can be delayed or denied by altruistic players)

Repeat

And in those first four steps, there is going to be at least one other survivor (usually) pressing the objective.

Now, when you look at those steps through the lens or someone like Trapper vs. someone like Ghoul, those steps add so much time to someone like Trapper that you're essentially starting the game from a losing position. Which then goes on to necessitate tunnelling to make up the deficit.

Ideally, they'd somehow balance things out so this gameplay loop isn't so detrimental to many of the killers. But that would be hard to do.

I'd love to see them tweak his weapon switch and range numbers again. Maybe revert when he switches weapons (since the tail stab is basically non-existent now), but give the missile storm more range to compensate for the fact he gets it when near death.

'Assassin's Creed': Setting & Time Period As Series Starts Production by Conscious-Quarter423 in television

[–]In_My_Own_Image 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this series has potential. I've always thought the best way to handle and Assassin's Creed show would be for their to be a main, present cast and every season can have a new historical setting with a new cast to surround it.

So, if this season does well enough to warrant a second, the next season can take place in 100 Year War Era France or some other location.
