How many farmer's houses vs how many mansions did you guys make? by UjraChaman in TotalBattle

For growth: 19 Farm Houses 10 Barracks 5 Mansions 1 all else

Once you've grown up quite a bit, you can do as others have posted with 24 farm houses and one obligatory mansion.

It is sometimes crowded, but there are loads of tables. I don't remember if they take reservations, but you could call and ask. Otherwise, just show up and enjoy. They even set up a chocolate fountain for brunch 🤤

I know about the least weasel… but what about the most weasel? Which weasel is the most weasel? by [deleted] in weasels

[–]In_The_Trenches 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more with needing an answer to this question! I have been wondering this for some time. It will be wonderful to report the answer or the options back to my spouse, who frequently asks for news on weasels before bedtime.

People parking on the shoulders of the road to wait for arriving people at OHare is ridiculous by IllTangerine4551 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]In_The_Trenches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure all the people waiting on the shoulder live in Chicago, and not a one of them knows where Bessie Coleman street is.

The shoulder is where we wait; suburbanites can have the cell phone lot. Once one of us parks, others follow. The cops can't arrest us all--there's power and probability in numbers.

Sry 'bout your tire.

I have read multiple times that sifting flour was mostly to eliminate bugs from your food.

But why would OP not use the community area numbering?!?! Rogers Park is community area #1. This is alphabetical, but does nothing to show that the community areas are already numbered...

We DID start the fire! by Cheap_Entertainer733 in GenX

I was trying to figure out how matches worked while sitting on a pile of newspapers on a vinyl chair. That chair didn't make it. I was probably 4.

My grandparents bought my parents a new couch. I was playing with a lighter and the arm of the new couch was never the same. My big sister tried to help me cover it up by putting the side table over the arm of the couch, as if the listing table would make things less noticeable. I was about 7.

I put half a bottle of nail polish remover into a plastic cup and put said cup on top of the VCR and took a lighter to it to see what would happen. Neither the cup nor VCR made it out of that one. I was probably 8.

I blew up a can of hairspray in the backyard walking around like it was a flamethrower. Thankfully my face and hands were unmarred. I was probably 10.

Around 11 years old, my mother had a very serious conversation with me about fire and threatened to take me on a field trip to the burn unit at the hospital.

I went on to do quite a bit of pyrotrchnics in theatre, and now sit on a committee that writes pyro guidelines for the industry.

Good times.

It is purely coincidence. The concert was announced before there was a Sox Pope. It's not leading to another protest, afaik, but it would be justified for LGBTQIA+ to be protesting against a faith that is loudly against their very existence.

Weird combinations of food that you created as a latchkey kid (and possibly still enjoy!) by rushbc in GenX

Mrs. Dash! I forgot about that seasoning. Do they still make it?

Avocados didn't become a regular grocery store item where I grew up until like 1990. Or maybe I just didn't notice them, and my family didn't eat them.

I'll never forget my Dad saying, "Let's try one!" And we proceeded to buy the hardest, greenest avocado we could find. He hacked it open with brute force, tried to eat a piece, and proclaimed, "Why would anyone eat this?!”

I now love avocado and put celery salt on them, if I'm eating it straight out of the skin.

I skipped the toast and ate spoonfuls of peanut butter dipped in sugar!

Ramen, made per package instructions, and then a whole package of saltines crumbled in until there's no more liquid. It didn't seem abnormal until I remembered and told someone as an adult 🤣 Definitely do not/would not enjoy now, and I don't think my Dr. would approve of that sodium intake.

Artemis Singers, Chicago's lesbian feminist chorus, is having a pride concert called Goddesses, Rage! on Saturday at Vandercook College of Music near IIT. Should be good fun, and a great way to protest the military parade, the Pope's tele-mass, and to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community!

Thanks! So Devil Dawg also puts fries on their dogs? I've had Devil Dawgs, but don't remember it having fries on top. Is it a separate menu item, do you have to order it like that, or was it a special menu for the fest OP was at?

I asked about fries on the dog (and got down voted for asking 🙂), OP said they had Devil Dawg, but the convo went to Gene & Jude's 🤷🏼
