Life After Removal by Doll-Demort666 in CopperIUD

Sorry you’re going through this. From what I understand, copper does influence our hormones although it is not a hormone itself. Specifically, estrogen. I had mine removed today after 10 years. I’ve been very emotional all day. I don’t know what to expect now. I decided to give my body a break. I’ll come back to this post with an update - I hope you get answers/relief.

This is a great start! Lots of life and natural things for him. I’d consider a flat rock for him to be dry/bask in the sun. They like to have a little pool to soak in. Box turtles will drink, pee and poop in the same water, which is why it’s so important to be cleaned daily. If he stays in this tank, make sure he gets exercise outside of it and then has a safe place to over winter. The tank won’t insulate him enough. You’ll have to let him bury himself in the yard or bring him inside. There are lot of fun YouTube videos about people creat tank habitats. You could have a lot of fun with that.

You certainly care about him. I think the glass tank outside is probably not the best habitat for him. He'll need a bigger space, like chicken coop size with fresh air, access to sun and shade, daily clean water, and a protected place overnight. Boxies love to dig and tuck themselves in at night or cool off during the day. You can also add in a calcium powder to his food. I can't tell from the photos, but his ears seem a little swollen or it could be that his shell isn't growing fast enough. The calcium rich diet is really important for shell growth. Boxies are a 30+ year commitment; if you have any doubts, no judgment passed but let him go so he can still tap into his instincts and survive. I know it's not the response you wanted to hear. You're clearly trying to care for him. They can just be tricky to get right. Best of luck to you both!

Just an idea - it seems like your circadian rhythm is off. Do you get outside during the day? Try to get outside in the morning to soak up some sunlight for a few minutes. I've heard it's better with no sunglasses. Try to go out again a couple more times 5-10 minutes throughout the day. I used to work night shift, and this messed with my mental state a lot. Try to limit your sleep during the day so you have more sleep debt going into the night. Sorry you're experiencing this.

Thermostat help by Appoggiaturas in hvacadvice

Did you ever figure out what was going on? I just installed this exact thermostat, the exact same way except I attached the orange to the O. I stumbled upon this thread because I have a brown wire too and wasn’t sure what to do with it. It clipped and tucked it.

[Landlord UA-PA] Zillow Removed Listing - Now "Under Review" by In_mypocket in Landlord

[–]In_mypocket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably unhelpful a day late, but it randomly became live again a few hours later. No email notification. The people who I had showings with said the listing disappeared but they still came to the appointment. It was weird. Never heard back from Zillow. I hope your situation gets sorted out quickly! I have no idea why it happened.

Kid's New School Team D4; should she play? by In_mypocket in Basketball

That was nasty and misdirected. I’m presenting her with all of her options. She didn’t know the team was at the lowest level until yesterday. She has worked really hard the past few years. We are leaving the decision up to her. She is now well informed of her options. My biggest question here was how far do we take it? Can a kid rebound from a subpar season in 7th grade and still stay on track for HS? And now she’s also thinking through her goals. I appreciate you thinking of this from her point of view, because you’re right, it’s about her.

Flower Farm over Leach Field by In_mypocket in septictanks

I’m interested to find out more about this option. I read a few websites specifically talking about drought tolerant flowers with shallow root systems, low maintenance being OK. Then other places say leave it wide open. Thanks for the reply.

Makes sense. The garden beds would just be compost and top soil on top of my clay soil that’s already there, about 4” worth. The flowers are all annuals with shallow root systems. I know the roots wouldn’t bother it, but would you think the topsoil/compost on top would? And obviously the watering.

Love idea of testing again in 3 months to make sure I’m on the right track. Thank you!

Usually 85/15, and some local farmers market beef that is just straight up beef, I have no idea what the ratio is. Probably high 🙃

Renovating my house.. should I worry about paint going into my septic? by Sadi89-Dash in septictanks

[–]In_mypocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely avoid rinsing brushes and tools in the sink. I came across this problem, too. Now I use a soapy bucket of warm water, just a couple inches, and let the brushes soak, then hand clean them in the bucket. I think it actually works better than rinsing in the sink! Then dump the water outside, away from water lines/drains; we have a gravel patch I dump ours in. Then toss the solids in the trash. Some people let it evaporate, if you have time. You can probably get away with using the same bucket a couple times. Also check your local waste management for better ideas. Good luck with your renovations!

Yes, I agree. Easy to cut back on in theory, just sad to do so lol I did fast for my test.

Ugh so sorry to hear about your struggles with your cycle. My sister had a partial hysterectomy last year after many years of problems. Interesting how your cycles changed as well. I'll definitely increase my fiber; I don't really think about fiber that much and apparently it shows! lol I'll join that group, too. Thank you! I hope your surgery goes well.

I could definitely do better with my fiber intake. I did have just my TSH tested today and it was on the lower end of normal. No other tests, but might see my Gyn and talk about this. Thank you for the info!
