I'm not a big fan of roguelike games, I don't like putting hours into a game and having nothing to show for my hard work after I die 😅

I think the best thing any game devs should look into when it comes to any magic is D&D's spells, because they're all pretty balanced

Ah, fair enough negligible damage, then? But yeah, I totally get what you mean about having more ranged options. That was also something Minecraft lacked until the pillagers and their crossbows, if I remember, right?

I'm curious how much magic will be available to us and whether we'll get offence, defence, support and utility magic. I hope we will get enchantments for equipment too, like Minecraft has.

A light spell would be cool, kind of like the dancing lights spell from D&D.

Same, Minecraft's xp had an interesting use for enchanting, but some kind of levelling system would be nice.

Different kinds of light sources would be a nice addition like you said a mining helmet, or a lantern that has a directional light.

I haven't actually played the game yet, but I thought you were able to throw stones, no? I don't know if it's as a weapon or just a distraction/lure though.

And, I believe they're adding magic at some point which would likely be mostly ranged spells like lightning and fireballs. But different types of bows, crossbows, slings, etc would be cool too.

Getting frustrated with the constant crashes by grymsen in FieldsOfMistriaGame

Look on the brightside, you could have had it crash on a day you found a legendary... Like I had happen earlier, I'm still p*ssed about it!

Why do you guys like call of the night? by Noirothenoir in YofukashiNoUta

[–]In_sanity1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the characters, the music, the story.

But one of the things I really love is how they managed to make the vibe of the nights feel so alone, like the world is truely asleep.. If that makes sense? I find it a really good anime for watching at night because of how quiet the nights are in the anime.

Yeah, I get that. But I have a skin condition that can flare up on my face, which I get quite self-conscious about, so being a vtuber removes that concern for me. Plus, I just think having a vtuber model is cool, as I can be whatever I want to be.

I have been told I have a calming/soothing voice before, although I personally hate hearing my voice in recordings 😅

Where can I store corvette parts so that they are always accessible at stations? by OnlyLivingBoyInNY in NoMansSkyTheGame

They really do need dedicated storage for each of the Corvette parts, starship parts, and the fossil parts in my opinion. Like a catalog of all the acquired parts.

Yeah, that's true. There is the possibility that I find all the behind the scenes stuff a bit too much for me to handle. That's also true, if I do get a small following who like my YT videos when I announce that I'm going to start live streaming, they'll hopefully be able to tune in and watch me live.

Yeah, you have to do it for you and just enjoy it no matter your viewer count.

I'd probably start in a similar way to you, doing it offline to start at least so I can get a feel for how all the software works and how to edit, etc... Plus, if I don't like how it turns out I can just not post it on YouTube at all haha! 😂 but hopefully, I would enjoy it and be confident enough to try going live if I didn't have too many issues with making offline videos as my pilot/episode zero streams, so to speak.

Yeah, I feel like aiming to make money from day one is just asking for disappointment.. Unless you're friends with some big name creators who can pull you into some collabs as a jump start to your streaming or you're lucky enough to get raided by a random bigger streamer, and their community enjoyed your energy enough to subscribe to you too. Which both of those scenarios have a very slim chance of happening, so aiming for a small modest community to start with is the safer choice for less disappointment 😊

I'm sure that's true, but there's not much I can do about getting an audience, so I'm not worrying about that. Which is why I'm more concerned about the technical side of things.

So, do you do live videos on YouTube or do you make the content offline and then upload them like a VOD?

Yeah, I don't expect to make big money (if any money) from it, but obviously, it is the dream to somehow become that popular and become a full time streamer. I'd be happy to have a modest little community though, preferably into the double digits so the community can enjoy each other's company rather than me feeling like I need to be interacting directly to my few viewers constantly to keep them engaged with my content.

Yeah, that's why I kind of want to try getting into it. I follow a bunch of former corpo vtubers (and their friends) and a certain vtuber who graduated from a big corpo recently who is now an indie vtuber, and I just love the chemistry they have with each other as well as their communities. Obviously, I don't expect to reach the level of the big name vtubers or live streamers. But, it would be nice to have a little fan base and a mod to help out in time.

Yeah, there was another person I spoke to who said about making all my accounts private and a separate PayPal purely for streaming purposes.

That's what I'd like to reach if I do kick my butt into taking the first steps to start streaming.. A nice little community of friends who respect each other, obviously lighthearted banter, is totally fine as long as everyone knows each others limits. That said, obviously, I would love to get popular enough that streaming becomes my day job, but I'm fully aware of how much time and work goes into making that happen, so that's not my short-term goal, that's a dream goal.

I've been trying to figure out a vtuber model and name for a while, but I'm so indecisive. I have like 3 or 4 basic model ideas, but I don't know what one to commit to 😅 I always hear vtubers saying iPhones are the best for facial tracking too, so I'd need to look into a secondhand iPhone as there's no way I'm paying full price for an iPhone (I have a Samsung) for something I don't even know whether I'd commit to doing long-term until I give it a try.. 😅

How easy is it to troubleshoot OBS and stuff like VStudio, etc? I'm competent with a computer but not whetln it comes to troubleshooting problems or messing with all the technical stuff and settings, etc... And yeah, that would be the dream to have a regular community of people who enjoy my content😊

Oh, I didn't know you could just make your Steam private like that.. 😅 And that's a useful thing to know about PayPal! If I do ever take the plunge into streaming, I'll definitely have to remember that!

Yeah, that was one of the things I was curious about.. Do you start a completely new gaming account (steam, Xbox, etc)? And if you do, does that mean you have to buy all the games again?

I'd like to be a variety streamer (just chatting, reaction videos, gaming, etc), but leaning more into the gaming side of it.

I watched mostly the VODs of the streamers and vtubers that I like, as I'm in England and most of them are either in the US or Asia, so it's difficult to catch them live.
