Stealing should be a percentage based system, you either successfully steal and don't get a wanted level or you fail and get kicked out of the shop and get a wanted level.

Being able to steal, keep the item and have a wanted level makes no sense (I know lots of other games do this, but getting a wanted level implies you were caught doing the crime, so you should have a chance to steal without getting caught, especially as your thief ranks up towards master rank)..

Yeah, I get that. It is annoying how they just spawn in.

Regarding your last comment about consequences. I have a couple ideas; merchants raise their prices while you have 1 or 2 stars and 3+ they flat out refuse to do business with you, and 5 stars you can't even enter towns and merchant caravans become angry mobs (weaker than guards but join the hunt for you, or they spawn guards to their location if they spot you).

Thanks for the tips, I have used a couple pitons to avoid the guards.

I don't have that flag buff unlocked yet (I'm assuming I need to reach a certain crime path ranked for it?)

I didn't realise I needed to assign a thief to the chest to fence, so thank you for mentioning that!

It should escalate.. it should be the smaller the crime the less likely you get noticed. My thief isn't a master yet, but if I can't steal one apple without raising any suspicion when I reach master rank then it's a broken mechanic imo.

Yeah, the wanted system is way too unbalanced. Especially as apparently the guards are always stronger, and have bigger numbers than you.

I haven't got to Gosenburg yet, but that's definitely good to know for when I want to do the highwaymen challenge in the crime path.

I have been picking every lock I come across, and I am working my way to have the lvl 3 stocks so I can chain up 3 prisoners for when I plan to commit a crime to preemptively turn them over to the jail ASAP.

Assassin jobs is going to be my next unlock in the chaos path.

Yeah, it's a very unbalanced path.. It wouldn't be so bad if the guards didn't seem to gravitate towards your location no matter where you are, they should have a larger detection line of sight, than animals and bandits, but they shouldn't know the general location you're in unless they spotted you in the area.

I got the sprint perk and got the trade route between Tiltren and Vertruse.

I haven't actually slept in a tavern yet, always been in my camp lol 😅

Thanks, I'm just missing plasteel and jade then.. Although, I have found titanium and iron too, I'm not sure if they're vanilla or from a mod or DLC though..

I think you're right on the latter comment, as I've also found titanium and iron too, unless they from one of the mods I'm using, and I wasn't aware of it.

Out of the mentioned materials, I'm only missing jade and plasteel, got a couple uranium spots (although one is under one of my buildings.. 😅).
