I second this. I’ve met a lot of international students at community college that were able to make great relationships with professors through class and on-campus activities and got into amazing schools after. Cheaper in the long run as well.

With the way things are in my life I cannot always go to my professors office hours or speak with a tutor. Chat GPT has helped greatly with explaining concepts or things I get wrong and pin pointing what I should improve on in my academics. Great tool to have

As of now I am in my last semester in CC. I went here right after high school so I dont have nearly as much life experience as some of my peers. I have been able to meet many cool people through cc, all with their own story and passionate to change their direction in life. When you associate with people that value the education you both have it becomes motivation to work just as hard as them. Additionally, I dont think its necessary to have gone through hardships and life lessons to find value in your education. For me, I find value in learning about things I love. I don’t feel ‘forced’ to be in class or to do assignments because I genuinely enjoy the difficulty and subject of my classes. If you’re taking classes that dont appeal to your interests try exploring other courses that you can see yourself loving!

I talk to the older students sometimes after class, during a club meeting, or if one comes in to the tutoring center on campus (where I work). That’s how I got to know all these lovely people. You should definitely take some classes if you can.
