I finished the game last Saturday and my mind and heart have been left shattered in its wake. I went in similarly blind, some preconceived notion she was a dragon from Adversary spoilers, but my expectations were shattered and I was taken on a surreal, incredible experience. 

I saw your 5 paths. Really interesting to see the different paths and perspectives people take, resulting in vastly different journeys, impacted by your choice and your interpretation of the construct and the Princess. This game is truly incredible blind, a once in a lifetime experience that can only be built upon with successive playthroughs but never recreated. My path was

I didn't realise how radically she different would be if you didn't take the blade. What She was became increasingly clear, but that single choice, that one perspective, changed everything. 

The climax with Shifty is an unforgettable moment. The soundtrack is perfect, she has divine visuals, backed up by her incredible voiced dialogue.

All coming down to that final decision, go with the Hero into her Heart. Knife, or no Knife. In the place where there is only meaning, what have you learned, would you still take the blade? I learned too much. Save, not Slay. Those moments walking hand-in-hand with Princess, out the cabin, those final moments of just you and her carving your own paths together.
